You can ask first before throwing them your CC.
Usually they will display the AMEX logo at the door or cashier table.
*
I don't see logo on the table but on the cashier keyboard laugh.gif

"Do you accept Amex?"
"No, we don't. We accept only Visa and Mastercard for purchase above RM50."
"Well, how do you explain that Amex word on your keyboard? Do you need supervisor to advise you?"
"Hold on, please."
"Sorry sir. We do accept Amex card. It is just available recently and some new cashiers do not know this."

Amex GST is waived while GST visa/master is charged, mine visa also charged on 16 apr, my mbb2 cards approved on 17th feb. From here, we can know that Visa are charged to all mbb2 cards holder in same time, that is 16 apr.
Between, on 17 Mar, Amex gst waived
*
I have not seen GST charged to my M2 Visa account yet.
M2 Amex GST is waived as stated in Product Disclosure Sheet.

Well, previously I was swiping my cards happily. And the amount of money in my savings account still untouched. So, I keep thinking I have that amount of money. Then, each time I swipe the card, I have to keep in mind that I still have this much of actual amount after deduction, so I do not overspend and put myself in debt. That is why I thought of settling it earlier. Not a good idea?  hmm.gif

As long as you spend within your means, you don't need to keep looking at your bank account balance.
Are you a shopping maniac? tongue.gif

u mean e-pay in cashier counters? ermm can be implemented provided im in tesco smile.gif
but most of the time at home lazy wanna go out  blush.gif
david, usually one month u spend below 1k or more?
i think its more worth to control our expenditure by not going above 1k as the rebate only capped at rm50
*
Install a personal finance application in your mobile phone so that you can jot down the expenses and details everytime you spend or swipe cc.

For better monitoring, I use a spreadsheet to record trxn of OCBC titanium and M2 Amex which cashback is capped at RM50. When the amount approaches RM1,000, I'll be cautious.

When you have OCBC Ti + M2 Amex + CIMB/DA Mastercard at the same time, you could earn cashback up to RM150 at GIANT HYPERMARKETS (purchase below RM3,000). LOL.

Tell the office tea lady that you'll be responsible for Milo/Nescafe/sugar/creamer/detergent/handsoap/etc from now on.

What app do you use? Maybe we can have a thread dedicated to "tracking or recording spending on credit card"
*
My mobile phone runs Symbian S60v3 (very old already).
The app might not be suitable to install on new phones with newer OS.

The laziest easiest way to monitor cc spending and 5% weekend spending quota is to copy the online transactions records to excel file and apply auto sum on whatever spending you want to monitor.

The best advantage is...no need key in spending details manually. Just copy and paste from online transaction records.
*
Some trxn take a few days to post up. If you copy & paste from online banking, you might miss some trxn.

You can use spreadsheet to plan your future expenditure too, useful to maximize the rebate return for MBB2 amex and OCBC Ti.
*
but don't maximize until overspending on unnecessary stuff sweat.gif

haha, just normal purchases and i love how the 5x TP accumulates rclxms.gif

On another note, someone mentioned that the rebate starts from the first saturday to the last sunday of every calender month. The last Sunday in April, for example, is 24th but there is still another Saturday on 30th. So the rebate for purchases on 30th is counted for the month of April or May?
*
IMHO, if the trxn is posted on the same day, then yes it will be included in April Cashback.
The trxn must APPEAR first, then only can calculate cashback ma, right? laugh.gif

What the hell? On what grounds? It's 5XTP everyday. So,.. if you've made the transaction, then you are entitled to it.
Erm.... you sure you didn't redeem anything? 5,000 points is a nice round figure, could have been deduction for redemption?
*
that 5,000 TP was given by Maybank 1, not earned 1. sweat.gif

u mean they won't request for ur pay slip or wat?? juz utilize ur usage for the cc only??
*
What the CS was trying to say is 'Sorry sir you cannot REQUEST for upgrade until 6 months later'. Do you know the meaning of 'request'? It means your application/request is totally subject to the decision of the bank.

Fulfiling the basic rule does not guarantee you approval.

I sent my application to mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my
Took 1week to appear in their database, then another 1 week to approve, and another 1 week to deliver card.
