I made another attempt to request for a replacement card again today and everything went smoothly. A Malay guy answered my call and didn't ask a lot of questions like why do i want to get a replacement card.

CS : Good Afternoon ! How can i help you ?
Me : Hello ! I want to request for a replacement card please.
CS : Sure. Can i get your card number ?
Me : xxxx xxxxxx xxxxx
CS : Hold on please
Me : Sure
CS : Mr. ... ... ...
Me : Yes. That's me.
CS : You want a replacement card just for the AMEX ?
Me : Yes. Just the AMEX. And can you please waive the replacement card fee ?
CS : Yes ... no problem. Replacement card is always free anyway ...
Me : [surprise] ... oh ... yeah ???
CS : Yeah. So which branch do you want me to send it to ?
Me : rrr ... can you send it to my house ?
CS : You'll be home all the time ?
Me : Yeah
CS : Ok ... (confirming my house address)
Me : Yes. Correct. When can i get it ?
CS : By next week
Me : Alright. Thank you.
CS : Ok. Have a nice day. Bye.

Such a friendly chap. I'm also deeply surprised when he said replacement card is always given out free because the last CS i talked to said a fee is chargeable. Anyway, my experience with Maybank is always a pleasant one thus far thumbup.gif

Anyway, have any of you noticed anything wrong with the Treatpoints in your card account ? I've used both my MBB2 AMEX and MBB2 VISA and the TP in my MBB2 VISA is missing. I do however noticed an increase in the TP of my MBB2 AMEX which i suspect they may have transferred the TP accumulated through my MBB2 VISA over to my MBB2 AMEX account. Is this normal since i didn't request so ? I'm not sure if there is any missing TP, will only find out when the next statement comes next month.

Hey !!! You've actually used your MBB2 VISA before ? When did the MBB2 MasterCard appear in your M2U anyway ? Did you request for the MBB2 MasterCard ? Someone previously said that if you've used your MBB2 VISA, you can't ask Maybank to replace it with MBB2 MasterCard.

Hi ronnie, i asking the GST waiver, CS told me got only 2 choice, pay or using TP. They dun even wan help me to request for waiver or give me 10k TP  sad.gif
I think you met the not-so-nice CS. The first lady CS i talked to about getting a replacement card wasn't very helpful either. And 7 working days ?? I stay in Sabah and i got the replacement card on the second working day thumbup.gif

QUOTE(beyond86 @ Apr 22 2011, 11:10 AM)
Hi Miles, replacement card got 2 conditions,
lost or stolen card, charge service charge RM50
damaged card, Free
Thanks. I wasn't aware of this. The guy i talked to was so nice that he didn't ask me anything besides confirming my house address rclxms.gif

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Apr 22 2011, 03:00 PM)
yup, make sure it's a single payment and not installment.
Payment by AMEX (even with Maybank logo) can't be done in installment anyway, if i'm not mistaken.

Oh yeah, i just forgot that i have not received my February statement. This is because Maybank screwed up and sent my first statement to my old house which we have sold a few years back. I don't even know how could this happen because the billing address recorded in their system is the latest one (they always ask me this every time i call them) doh.gif

I have requested for the February statement to be emailed to me for 4 times already from 4 different CS since mid-March, none of which i have received. I'm going to demand them to give me a printed copy now from their branch here in KK. It's public holiday here in Sabah today (Good Friday). So i guess i can only do it next week. See how it goes. I'm not going to pay the statement request fee for sure.

omg i didnt know credit card 0% installment is not entitle to get treatpoints  sad.gif
0% IPP does entitle you for rewards points. Just that you can't use your AMEX for the installment plan, even if it has the Maybank logo.

QUOTE(beyond86 @ Apr 22 2011, 03:43 PM)
i also duno why take 7 working days rclxub.gif
Or may be it is just the girl you talked to wanted to play safe and told you it's going to take 7 working days. The Malay guy i talked to did tell me that i'll get the card by next week smile.gif And when sometimes the card doesn't get to us on-time, it's not exactly the bank's fault too. Maybank is using Poslaju service and we all know just how "reliable" Poslaju is. Making every Malaysian citizens proud laugh.gif

One question.

I am trying to pay my bills (maxis, astro, p1, tnb, etc) via maybank2u. But, i can only choose my savings account and not the maybank2 cc when i click on the select account. Do i need to do something to enable cc bill payment?  Thanks.
Of all the bills mentioned, you can pay P1 and TNB using your Maybankard 2 VISA via M2U. Try again.

Hi everyone,

just a really newbie question here, hope you guys dont mind.

I have a HSBC Amanah Gold Visa with 7k credit limit for 1 year now. Do you think I am eligible to apply for the Maybank 2 Card Platinum?

^^
As Gen-X said, you can get the MBB2 Gold cards but your chance to get the MBB2 Platinum cards is very slim. With the new rules in force, getting a Platinum card in your situation is now made harder.

previously got someone mentioned, so now we know it is possible to get gold and platinum
Can someone please confirm this ? Because i think he got both Gold and Platinum cards because Maybank messed up right ? If however this is indeed possible, i'm going to call them first thing i wake up later to request for the MBB2 Gold Cards.

@rEDs, if you want to redeem TP for something (item or voucher or GST), it'll be treated as combined; meaning the system will see as total TP available from all your cards.
This may not be the case for on-the-spot redemption, not for SOGO anyway. When i redeemed my SOGO vouchers just a few weeks ago, all the treatpoints are separated according to each card brand.

But when I tried at Carrefour and Maybank tower and inquired for TP availability, it displayed total combined TP.

So strange.
It's separated in the slip copy they gave to me. May be it's different for SOGO. Anyway, will try to find that slip.

Thanks, based on your previous transactions, can you confirm to this forum that the auto debit from your cc is F.O.C ?  If there is chargers, then it will defeat the purpose of paying via paypal in order to earn rebates and treat points. Personally, I believe there is chargers.
A long time Paypal user myself. I can confirm that when you do not have any money in your Paypal account, all payments made via Paypal will be directly debited from your chosen linked credit card/debit card/charge card.

By the way, Malaysians **can't add funds directly to their Malaysia Paypal account from credit card/debit card/charge card or via direct debit from a Malaysia bank account.

**Except RHB Bank account holders

i just got to view my maybank 2u for my mbb2kard for visa only, how come my amex dun have? it cant be viewed is it? i dun have other savings account
Have to be manually linked over the branch and this can be done at any Maybank branch nationwide.

QUOTE(fuu @ Apr 27 2011, 07:37 PM)
same here. I did the transaction on Sunday (24/4)but until now it's not charged (to my Visa).
Is it just me or I noticed that Visa transaction is always slower to be in the system (compared to Amex)?

Or it is normally slower if transaction is done over the weekends?
The posting of MBB2 VISA transactions is always slow while MBB2 AMEX is very fast. In fact, i believe it is the fastest in Malaysia. Transactions will be posted to your M2U even during public holidays thumbup.gif

QUOTE(fuu @ Apr 27 2011, 10:13 PM)
Yup, I agree on that. So far have you tried any transaction with your Visa (in case Amex is not accepted?). How fast is the transaction posting?
Slow, very slow. When i booked a hotel room in Hong Kong via Accor website back in February, it took one week before the transaction is posted to my M2U.

I cannot terminate my petronas visa on the dot due to some of bills are autopay using this card. + the validity will expired next year
No problem. Just cancel the autopay instruction and your credit card. They can't charge to a canceled credit card.

QUOTE(turion64 @ May 1 2011, 03:19 PM)
1. if i use maybank2kard amex on an online transaction on a weekend, will i be entitle to 5% rebate and 5x treatpoints ?
Yes. 5% rebate (assume if you have not hit your RM50 quota for the month) + 5x TP

QUOTE(turion64 @ May 1 2011, 03:19 PM)
2. i have read the TnC about foreign currency conversion charges for Maybank2card's Amex (2.5%). But i remember read it somewhere that it is (2.5% + 0.5%). wondering where does the 0.5% came from ?
2.5% is charged by American Express whilst 0.5% by Maybank.

QUOTE(turion64 @ May 1 2011, 03:19 PM)
3. i understand that using Maybank2card's Visa have the lowest foreign currency conversion rate. But will the Maybank2card Amex with 5% and 5x Treatpoints more worthwhile than Maybank2card's Visa since it have a higher conversion rate?
Yes. The return from MBB2 AMEX is actually more if you do the calculation. However, no everyone is willing to pay more in advance. Anyway, you can learn more about this via :
