Install a personal finance application in your mobile phone so that you can jot down the expenses and details everytime you spend or swipe cc.

For better monitoring, I use a spreadsheet to record trxn of OCBC titanium and M2 Amex which cashback is capped at RM50. When the amount approaches RM1,000, I'll be cautious.

What app do you use? Maybe we can have a thread dedicated to "tracking or recording spending on credit card"

My mobile phone runs Symbian S60v3 (very old already).
The app might not be suitable to install on new phones with newer OS.

The laziest easiest way to monitor cc spending and 5% weekend spending quota is to copy the online transactions records to excel file and apply auto sum on whatever spending you want to monitor.

The best advantage is...no need key in spending details manually. Just copy and paste from online transaction records.

Some trxn take a few days to post up. If you copy & paste from online banking, you might miss some trxn.

You can use spreadsheet to plan your future expenditure too, useful to maximize the rebate return for MBB2 amex and OCBC Ti.

Yes that's true. The delay is about 1 or 2 days but that is ok with me coz I can still recall my last few days spending or retrieve the info from the sales slip in my wallet before update my spread sheet again.

haha, just normal purchases and i love how the 5x TP accumulates rclxms.gif

On another note, someone mentioned that the rebate starts from the first saturday to the last sunday of every calender month. The last Sunday in April, for example, is 24th but there is still another Saturday on 30th. So the rebate for purchases on 30th is counted for the month of April or May?

IMHO, if the trxn is posted on the same day, then yes it will be included in April Cashback.
The trxn must APPEAR first, then only can calculate cashback ma, right? laugh.gif

What the hell? On what grounds? It's 5XTP everyday. So,.. if you've made the transaction, then you are entitled to it.
Erm.... you sure you didn't redeem anything? 5,000 points is a nice round figure, could have been deduction for redemption?

u mean e-pay in cashier counters? ermm can be implemented provided im in tesco smile.gif
but most of the time at home lazy wanna go out  blush.gif
david, usually one month u spend below 1k or more?
i think its more worth to control our expenditure by not going above 1k as the rebate only capped at rm50
*
Yes. Buy the reload through the epay machine at the cashiers or the customer service counter.

My monthly spending is averagely less than RM 1k. It's pretty rare for me to max out RM 50 rebate unless I made a big purchase in that month like buying specs, laptop and etc.

and plus dont forget to use Tesco Club for points and more cash rebates tongue.gif

the 5000 TreatsPoints given (and now taken back) was by mistake.... Now the 10000 TP was deducted to redeem the rm50 GST for Maybankard2 Visa... But still not shown on M2U for the redemption.
