QUOTE(zcatz @ Apr 12 2011, 11:14 AM) pls check ur statement if u have made the 0% balance transfer to your OCBC Titanium. I did mine last month. transfer 5k, retail spending 1k, make payment 1.2k before due. today statement got interest charge ~rm10. call the call center to check & they told me the system calculate my 5k transferred as normal spending & charge accordingly, which is not rite. so, they will cancel the interest charge. will update once the interest being revoke. This is the problem when credit card and BT share the same account in view of the payment hierarchy. The best is BT with CIMB/DA, where a separate BT account will be purposely opened so that payment for BT and credit card will not be messed up.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Apr 14 2011, 03:23 PM) got my OCBC TMC statement today, overspent by RM115 with the card on 5% because my ASTRO billed quarterly QUOTE(yflai1 @ Apr 14 2011, 04:35 PM) Sepandai-pandai tupai melompat, akhirnya jatuh dalam perangkap bank juga. If you received RM50 cash back by spending a cumulative amount of RM1115, the effective cash rebate rate is 4.48%. It is still much better than other cards.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ May 5 2011, 08:32 PM) I just called CS to reduce my CL to RMX8, however according to her, the Statement will still reflect my current CL even though it has been reduced. This is because should I want back my original CL, it will be reinstated. They are 2 types of CL reduction, namely permanent or temporary reduction. I opted for permanent reduction, as I do not like to see a high limit shown in the BNM credit report, for a card that I do not get any benefits at all after my spending has hit the maximum RM50 cash back per month. The CL of my OCBC Titanium is only RM6,000 now.

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ May 7 2011, 09:46 AM) Interested to know what is yours reasons to reduce CL of your CC ? For security reasons ? Please share. Apart from security reason, another 2 main reasons are: 1) to reduce credit exposure and 2) the card does not give any further cash back or points if your spending has hit the maximum cash back of RM50 per month. For the worst case scenario, if you only swipe the card at merchants entitled to 1% cash back, the maximum spending per month entitled to cash back is RM5,000. What's the point of having a high CL for this card? QUOTE(aeiou228 @ May 7 2011, 09:46 AM) What kind of disadvantage one would have by having high limit in BNM credit report ? Please share. You will have a high credit exposure via "potential debt", thus effecting your chances to get a bank loan.

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ May 7 2011, 11:25 AM) Thanks for sharing. I think CC that gives unlimited rewards points (Amex,HSBC etc) or 1% uncapped cash back(HLB essential) should maintain highest possible CL for big ticket item like 10% down payment for the new property launching, tuition fee, long distance air ticket for family, tour package for family, insurance premium, new car down payment etc etc. It is true. But it is not the case for cards that give cash back cap like OCBC Titanium MC.

I never thought that purchases at pharmacy would give 5% cash back. It is not categorised under grocery.

I patronised a Chinese medicine shop in Bandar Puteri Puchong 2 months ago. I cannot remember the name of the shop but it is located near the public library. The shop also sells some groceries. My transaction was given 5% cash back.

QUOTE(gilabola @ Aug 28 2011, 07:49 PM) Does anyone know how the monthy cycle for rebate is determined? Does the RM50 limit reset after the payment due date or after the statement date? It is automatically reset after the statement date.

QUOTE(MGM @ Sep 16 2011, 08:54 AM) Agreed with you that all bonuses will be snapped up within the 1st day. Tried that on similar UOB promo last time and was unsuccessful even swiped on noon on the first day. Better to swipe with MBB2Amex to get 5xtreatpoints guranteed. QUOTE(rachel_xxx @ Sep 20 2011, 08:46 PM) I spent on 1st day for consecutive 2 months -----> bonus cash back = RM0 I also received the RM3,000 spending contest. I will definitely skip this, as for the previous contest in May/June I ended up with NOTHING even though I spent more than RM1,000 on the first day of the contest. QUOTE(tifosi @ Oct 13 2011, 11:30 AM) I know is not based on the description and based on the MCC but if I were to argue with them, I will have a valid ground unless they come out with Supermarket does not sell grocery. The 5% cash back is based on MCC but not merchant type. I swiped at 2 different supermarkets selling grocery in Europe. One earned 5% cash back while the other only gave 1% cash back.

QUOTE(Frostlord @ Jan 24 2012, 06:16 PM) if 48k, is there limit to the number of cards i can carry? the reason is once the Titanium card is approved, most likely i will cancel my existing master The "credit cards from a maximum of two credit card issuers" rule does not apply to those earning more than RM36,000 per annum.

QUOTE(YummyFriedOnions @ Jan 25 2012, 06:35 PM) Anyone just got an SMS from OCBC to replace their card due to security reasons? Yes, I received this kind of sms about a year ago. Thereafter OCBC issued a new card for me with a new card number too. It troubled me to update all my auto debits.

QUOTE(YummyFriedOnions @ Jan 26 2012, 05:18 PM) Any idea what was the fraudulent transaction? They didn't mention what triggered the system. They only suspected the syndicate. It's simply a safety measure to prevent it.
