Hi ronnie and all, thanks for this great thread. I have used this card since April 2011. Great card I must say.  thumbup.gif
I have read through all 98 pages before posting this. Read that you said not worth to use this card for insurance premium, but would like to share my recent experience.

1. Any other cc give high rebates? Especially on utility bill. (just the card name, I will do further research.)  icon_question.gif
2. Can we hold > 1 ocbc Ti card? (crazy thought I must admit.)  brows.gif
3. Wify is housewife but ocbc premier banking customer with FD, RM said cannot get ocbc Ti card without income source. Anyone have any experience?
4. Any other way to get another ocbc Ti card?  hmm.gif

Thank you.  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Just applied and see what is the outcome. Sometimes the RM may not know what is happening.

Last year, I applied mine through their on-line computer inside the ATM area and I only have a very small amount of FD with them. After I completed on-line application, I was surprised to receive a sms on the same day that my card is approved.

You hire your wife and pay her monthly salary till card is approved ??? biggrin.gif

I beg to differ. At least 1% cash back is better than other cards. So smart spenders will be using which card for other purchases that do not accept amex?
*
totally agreed. Some may not have so much expenses on 5% rebate thus will be using more on 1%.

For OCBC Ti - I used on maxis, digi, telakom, TNB and yet still not reaching RM50. Seldom shop at hypermarket
For UOB 1 card - I used for BHP petrol where I can get 5% rebate plus 2 % (max RM400 per mth) from BHP

Maybe you are right! Guess I am plain lazy and besides most of the month is RM50 that is why dont bother.

it is easy to get RM50 rebate, the difficult part is to spend the exact amount to get RM50. Any over spending get ZERO rebate.

The easiest way I have been doing is to call up OCBC (when to call is depending on your statement date and your spending) and check 5% and 1% rebate I have gained, from that I will get to know what I need to spend so that will not end up zero rebate.

one question regarding CC. Can I ask my friend to swipe my bills at TMPOINT, MAXIS CENTRE by using my credit card?

Will the different signature reject the payment?
*
will any establishment accept different signatures on the credit cards? If all firms can accept different signatures then what is the point card holders sign on the back of the card?

maxis centre - I went to Maxis centre, Penang Bayan Bay and paid my bill. Checked statement, only 1% not 5%. called OCBC, the staff said the merchant code Maxis used is 1%. I told her OCBC advertised all mobiles utilities are 5%. She said No, it is customer's responsibility to check the merchant code. Ridiculous reply mad.gif

I called Maxis and paid and get 5% rebate. So you may call maxis to pay your bill.

I believe TM also allowed called in to pay by credit card.

I just returned from GSC wanting to use AMEX buy-1-free-1 for student/citizen rate but was told cannot use both promo at the same time. Then I asked what if i use OCBC ti, same answer.
*
No double promo means you either enjoy Amex student/senior citizen rate or OCBC buy 1 free 1.

Sometimes I think this card is USELESS after swipe 1k.
No rewards points also.

What other cards have 5% on bills?

1k not enough for me.

your OWN total utility bill is > RM1000 per month?

Missed a call i think from OCBC 03-27268200 due to currently applying Titanium Master Card.
If really from OCBC, they only called one time, after that no more call.

they will call again. It happened to me before. Most likely they call to verify some info.....your card is on the way
