Bro, my CM wifi signal worse than official froyo, wifi connection will auto missing during using, already patched hotfix6. Any idea? Thanks smile.gif

Download the latest CWM v.4. The previous CWM versions have some issues and if you used that to install the hotfix, it may give you these problems.

So download again, and then re-install your hotfix6. Then reboot, no need to data wipe. May resolve your problem.

CM v.0.9 + hotfix6 - Stable, reliable, fast and smooth.

Guide/Procedure :

I don't know what CM version you are using. But if you are using v0.7 and above, then you must already have CWM installed.

v0.7 and above :

1. Download CWM v.4 zip (latest) link/instructions : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/%2...cret-projectgt/

2. Download CM v.07 , hotfix6 and Google Apps (20110613).
http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/%2...alaxy5%27-port/

3. Install the three downloaded files (Item No.2 above) in sequence.

4. Reboot. Done.

v0.6 and below :

1. Download CWM v.4 tar.
2. Flash it with ODIN.
3. During the flashing, CWM will boot up in your phone. Select data wipe/factory reset. (make sure you have already backed up your stuffs).
4. Reboot.
5. Copy the three files (Item No.2 above) to your sdcard.
6. Boot up CWM by pressing the OFF (calls off) button, select reboot > recovery. CWM will boot up.
7. Select (from CWM) > install from zip in sdcard.
8. Install the three files in sequence.
9. Reboot. (Data wipe not require)
10. Done.

PS If after you've finished the above and find that there's any problems, then only do data wipe/factory reset (with CWM)

Good luck.

The google apps in the link I gave (madteam's) is okay to install. It's actually not a full package but selected apps by Psyke.

If you need more google apps you can get here : http://android.modaco.com/topic/335141-add...pps-2011-07-12/

Note : basebands (AMSS) can only be flashed with ODIN. CWM is for roms , hotfixes, and zip files installations.

may i know...why u want use this baseband...is this is m'sian baseband?
*
JP6, JP7 are malaysian basebands.

The baseband is the subsystem of the phone that controls radio communications. It's a chipset on the phone that directly controls cellular hardware and communications with cell towers.

Wrong usage of basebands can cause data/line and GPS not working correctly. That's why different regions/countries have different basebands. But certain countries' baseband can be used in another country and vice versa if they are compatible with the country's phone/line providers.

For wifi problem in CM rom, you need to download Blade Wifi Fix from market and then set your Wifi policy to >>NEVER.

OIC, so how's cm rom? i've tried before and it is great but I have to switch back to official rom cause I need to send to sc because of the network reception problem before.
*
CM rom is fast, smooth and responsive. The only (minor) issue is that it consumes a little more battery and the radio is not working yet.

I can't reboot recovery from phone or adb. my phone get hang, I must reset it (Vol up + power button).

And how to install gapps from folder (/system/app) not from .apk? just extract the .zip to /system/app?

v0.9 + hf6
*
1. Once in awhile, it won't reboot. It's normal. But if it is frequent, then you'll have to perform data wipe with CWM.

2. You can install the gapps two ways :

a) just install it with CWM as-it-is when you downloaded the file. don't extract anything. copy the files in to your sd card and install.
or
b) extract out the apk file from the zip and copy it to your sdcard. install it as usual like any normal app. but for this method, you'll have to install the gapps one by one, not in package form.

*
to boot up CWM, you actually don't need to use terminal emu. just press > power off button, then choose > reboot > recovery. CWM will boot up.

that's normal if you seldom use gps as frequent use means frequent update to phone from satellites. if you use gps at least once a week, i think locking fast will not be a problem.

Hello all,

My GT-I5503 is having problem with 'Mobile network' and I can't figure out what is causing the problem or how to fix it.

Android version:
2.2
Baseband version:
I5503DXJP6
Kernel version:
2.6.32.9-perf

Ok, here is the problem description:

My data (internet/3G) always get disabled, somehow.

Checking Settings -> Wireless & network settings -> Mobile network shows Mobile network as checked BUT the whole field is disabled (dimmed).

If I turn off the phone and turn it back on, the data connection (3G) will be available again but after some idling or so, the same thing happens again.

I have tried reset the phone but the problem persist without extra apps installed.

If this is a known problem, please point me to the solution. Otherwise troubleshooting suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advanced.

Install Quick Settings from the market. It'll help you with the Network settings.

It's advisable to back up your rom with CWM. If your sdcard doesn't have enough space, your can temporary transfer some files to your computer first to free some space, then back up and then copy the backed-up file to your computer. And then you can transfer back your stuffs to the phone.

This way, you can always have the back-ups available. (I have back up all the CM versions which I find suitable, and copied to my computer).

ya i know v0.9 still exist in madteam forum but i only need hotfix6..anyway thanks for hotfix6 link
actually i don't know how to backup rom with CWM.. i need a guide...hahaha
*
Select OFF BUTTON > Reboot > Recovery ---->> CWM will boot up ---->> (if it doesn't, long press > VOLUME UP BUTTON + OFF BUTTON)

Select > backup and restore > Backup

Wait for the backup to complete, then reboot.

Go to your sdcard and you'll be able to see the backup file in the ClockWorkMod Folder. If you need space for your sdcard, just transfer/copy the backup file to your computer.

When you want to restore back, just transfer/copy back the backup file to the ClockworkMod folder and do the procedures as above except select restore.

should I install gapps from recovery when upgrade from v0.9 to v1.0 without data wipe?
*
1. when installing new cm versions (not hotfixes), you need to re-install gapps. (e.g. from v0.9 to v1.0 = yes , you need to re-install gapps).
2. if your current version, i.e. v0.9 has no problems, then you don't need to do data wipe. (data wipe are needed only if you have problems).
3. if restore with CWM, you don't need to do anything, just restore your previous rom and done.

Added on August 5, 2011, 3:24 pmFor those who have problems with partitioning SDcard to EXT4 and Linux Swap, use ClockWorkMod (CWM).

It's easy and simple.

For those not on CM versions (and planning to use it from eclair 2.1 or froyo 2.2) :

1. Download CWM here : http://www.multiupload.com/IN6X5BC2SS
Do not extract any files from the .tar file.

2. Flash the .tar file via Odin using the regular "One Package" procedure. If you need help, read here :
http://madteam.co/wiki/index.php?title=How...h_a_Madteam_ROM

3. Your phone should now automatically reboot into ClockworkMod.

4. Reboot.

5. Boot up CWM (press > OFF button > reboot > recovery ----> follow instructions on your phone screen.

Enjoy!

Alex... Do you have problem with market?
my market application suddenly disappeared..

I'm CM 7.1 version 1.0
*
No, I don't encounter any problems. Everything is working fine for me in v.1.0 except the known issues.

Perhaps you can try the fols :

1. Re-install CWM latest version v.4
http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/%2...cret-projectgt/

2. Re-install gapps - Google Apps (20110613)

3. Update gaap-market
http://www.mediafire.com/?m95tyi45f8bfghx

or

4. Go to Android Market on you pc.

5. Click > My Market Account > Settings > Edit > Update

Hope the above helps.

PS - This is why it is very important to BACKUP your roms, settings, apps with CWM. If anything goes wrong, you can always restore back everything EXACTLY as when you backup.

disappear ? did it suddenly frozen on titanium backup?
*
With CWM, I think it is unnecessary to use titanium backup anymore. For roms, settings, preferences, applications, CWM will do the backup job.

As for personal stuffs, like pictures, movies, music, etc. just copy them to the pc.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are what I do and so far, it's working great for me. smile.gif

Thanks 4 ur advise.. I've reinstall market application.. Working fine until now...

If I want to change my base band to current updated one.. Are these the correct steps?

1- Backup using CWM
2- Flash to I5503DXJP8 using odin
3- Flash CM7.1 Version 0.6 using odin from here http://hotfile.com/dl/122719156/211f808/cy...y5-v0.6.7z.html
4. Flash CWM (V4) using odin
5. Flash CM7.1 Version 1.0 using CWM
6. Install Hotfix 1.0
7. Install gapps - Google Apps (20110613)
8. Since no data wipe no need to restore backup if CM7.1 working fine..

Change baseband doesn't require data wipe...

Do I miss something?
*
1. Yes
2. Yes**
3. You don't need to flash CM7.1 v.0.6. Just proceed to No. 4

5. Yes
6. Yes
7. Yes
8. Yes

For No.2, if you are only just flashing the baseband file, AMSS, you can skip all those steps. Just flash the AMSS file (with ODIN) will do.

But if you are flashing the whole package, i.e. the Froyo rom, you need to do data wipe as it is an entirely different rom from CyanogenMod.

Hence, when you are doing step No.4, i.e. flashing CWM v.4, you have to perform data wipe (with CWM) again.

Note : If your current baseband is working fine, my opinion is that you don't need to change your baseband. As for my own case, I'm still using
JP6 as it is working well for me.
