There is no more slavery in Islam. In old days yes, same as American slavery. At the time of the Muhammad slaves were part of life. It was the culture of the idol worshipers to buy and sell slaves. It was Islam who changed all that by the rewards of the hereafter. Freeing the slave was considered a great thing.
