QUOTE(cekutz @ Mar 16 2011, 11:39 AM)
There are similarities between Roo and Scholes,

1) Both played as a striker
2) Both have similar range of pass
3) Both have the ability to shoot

I think he can make it in the midfield. We've seen SAF switched his player's preferred postion before (Alan Smith, Scholes), so it would be interesting if Rooney plays as a midfielder. I do think SAF have that thought in mind considering Carrick's now switched to a more holding role.
*
scholes never quite played as striker. more like forward centre but always playing role of an attacking midfielder.

passing range might be the same but scholes more likely to hold the ball style while rooney more likely to go forward after passing the ball
type of striker who get deep and supporting role. even when playing AML he more likely to get deep than wide unlike valencia, nani (sometime also go deep to get goals)

QUOTE(cekutz @ Mar 16 2011, 03:47 PM)
Scholes did play as striker during his early years with United, in fact, when Cantona was suspended for the famous/infamous kungfu kick incident he was then again needed in the striker's dept as Andy Cole's strike partner due to Mark Hughes departure.

SAF never really tried Rooney at middle of the park as a play-maker, but we can see glimpse of his awareness of spotting a teammate out wide and spraying accurate cross field passes. He has all the qualities of a good midfielder. As for him playing out wide, he is not a natural winger a-la Nani or Tony, that's why he find it difficult playing on the flanks. When Keano was around, Scholes also acts as a supporting role to the strikers or striker depending on the formation played. We can see evidence in the 02-03 season where he scored a lot of goals either from forward position or midfield. i think Rooney can do the same with Carrick being the holding midfielder and I would love to see that.
*
but he still start as a midfielder not striker turn to midfielder. only choose to play more upfront role due to absent of cantona. thats why we got sheringham after cantona left
always seen playing more of a AM/FC role on his early days. nowdays more like CM but still more to attacking role compare to fletcher and carrick

also think rooney can be a good midfielder coz for me rooney have all qualities to be true footballer.. type of player who can play anywhere. highly adaptable. even when playing AML dont think he play bad at all. rooney also been seen helping to defence for many occasions. still prefer him stay as FC partners etiher berba/chica

if we played rooney as the am/fc position. it should be 4411 right?

i think still 442 only rooney playing deeper as a link to chica who always stay upfront

let other team beat them la so we can beat the other team in semi or final..why mau cari susah2 bro??

at the end champion is all that matter.. smile.gif
*
problem is which other team?

prefer united be the one to beat them. QF would be too early so hope for semis.
if theres any team i rather lose its barca. think we got better chance on 2 leg game against them.
they may hv stronger side but SAF is more experience and better tactician. BELIEVE flex.gif

for QF anyteam will do

QUOTE(dundermifflin @ Mar 21 2011, 11:13 AM)
i think Chelsea had 'easiest' run in, ON PAPER. but that wont matter this season. at least 8 relegation battlers, 6 teams still in contention for top 4. these team willing to kill each others and playing out of their skin to achieve their objective. always expect the unexpected result.

Man City no longer a threat for championship. i believe they will focus securing the top 4, and go 110% in FA Cup. we can see they were playing for a draw yesterday.

last month, some said Arsenal had easier run in. but they lost points to teams they expect to beat (WBA, Newcastle). injuries crippling them right now. United had some key injuries too, but international break are perfectly timing for us. defensive department are very worrying, but most our attacking personnel are coming back. even M.Owen is ready to play.

derby in SF FA Cup will be huge distraction. SAF is willing consider to field youngster /fringe for that match IF the opponent not Man City (like he did 2 years ago, vs Everton).. and the problem is, that (most of the) youngster /fringe players currently occupying our first XI /matchday squad.
*
ski may hv easier run on BPL matches but they hv the harder challange as they are few point behind. i bet CL will be their main priorities. for that they arent quite major threat for the title for now

city? never was a threat lah.. bising saje lebih biggrin.gif
CL always their main target this season

arsenal definately major threat. now they already out from other competition BPL is the only hope for them. of coz emirates visit will be crucial.

for united we hv chance to do treble. so all remaining match is important now. need to take matches one by one. priority should be BPL then FA cup
as much pleasing it will be to win or move further in CL they still long to go for it while only 2 game left for FA cup glory.
we need it aint just for the trophy but also kasi senyap itu noisy neighbour flex.gif

obertan already on his 2nd season.. so far dont see any improvement on his game. might need more matches but even with valencia out SAF seem dont hv enaugh fate to let him play. if things dont change could see him offload..

its okay to critics and disagree here and there.. everyone mind work differently

but it sad to see how some people like to drag the issue or disagreement very long.
trying so hard to make themself better or right that finally only make them look bad/stupid

It should have been a fine. Make it a big fine or whatever. Banning a player for celebrating his goal with an "f" word while the rest of the country continues cussing is ridiculously stupid. It's just as stupid as the ban on taking shirts off for a goal celebration. Incredibly daft. Daddy washes his car topless. Should he be banned? rolleyes.gif
*
totally agree.. banned a player cursing for celebrating goal just nonsense. got nothing to do with in play football. fine thats it.

same goes to take shirt off celebration. what so wrong bout it just cant understand. most dissapointment is that its been part of the game for so long, its a celebration of a goal style. well known and use all over the world
