let say utar graduates able to complete the bachelor's degree in 4th year.

is it possible for them to do both part 1 and part 2 lam in 5th year or there is any restriction for them?
*
you do make alot of assumptions, better to go with stpm course and get a good grade, then you can choose any public uni you want to study to...

what do u mean 'complete bachelor's degree in 4th year'? all first degrees in architecture are 3 years.

and it's not possible to do both at the same time. architectural students do not sleep doing work for a single degree and u're talking about doing both? do u have a time machine or something?

new update on UTM intake. changes will be made on the diagram in 1st page.

UTM no longer takes diploma from IPTS EXCEPT from kolej shahputra, kolej laila taib (kuching) and alfa college. UTM requested all diploma providers in msia to submit their course details to us in order to sort the credit transfers, but only these three colleges did so.

hence to comply with UTM policy, we only take diplomas from these three schools from now on and others will be rejected outright.

if u're diploma students from other IPTS and are pissed with one university closing its doors, u'd have to take it up with the school and ask why they didnt submit to UTM.

yup. although u may be admitted to 2nd year, it's best to be realistic about it.

hey all, im asking this on behalf of my younger brother who is interested in architecture. Basically, he is wondering whether his A-level subject choices would allow him to enter an architecture course in uni. He has chosen to do Design and Technology (Graphics), Further Maths, Economics, and Mandarin for A-levels, but because he has not chosen to do a science subject ie. Physics, he's worried that this would lower his chances of entering an architecture course. so would this affect his chances?

he took further maths. it should be enough. but do note that his choices are limited to IPTS only.

thanks! so is it true that most universities overseas only require A-level maths? does entry depend heavily on the person's portfolio?

Over here in Australia, there are a number of student-run organizations which do volunteering work etc.

Is it a merit to add those kind of activities in our CV as a future architect? I mean, it wouldn't do any extra help right?

the architecture is more or less about character. anything that builds the character counts. but it depends on the employers, surely.

I'm into my second year of my architecture course in Taylor's University and am currently learning more on computer applications this semester. I am already equipped with AutoCAD, some Adobe applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Sketch-Up etc.

This semester we will be producing some animations which would require knowledge on 3Dmax and other helpful programs. I would like to inquire what are those 'other programs' most students/ architects normally use?

I know Rhinoceros, Adobe Premier are among the few that are highly recommendable, but are there others to enhance an animation?

go for BIM software like autodesk revit or archicad.

u see, animators sits at the back of the office, doing the hardwork for the bosses. with BIM software, u become an allround consultant that could work independently. it's as if 'hire 1 person, do 3 person's work'. employers LOVE that prospect!
