I just bought my Lenovo G470 ytd at PC FAIR.. Everything is ok, but there is one thing that bugs me is that the wireless speed of this laptop, the speed is always range between 24mbps - 36mbps, even though i'm sitting just right beside my modem, the speed is very slow and it some how irritates me, any idea why is it like that and how to fasten it ? even my HP MINI that I got from TM has a speed of 54mbps when i'm quite far from the modem.

Wah what internet you use internet speed until 54mb, unifi max only 20 mbs ,i think because the network is use by a lot of people ,its using wifi right?

haha! I think what he meant is the speed at his home network.. between the modem n his laptop.. wired LAN could transmit 100Mbps.. wireless depend normally 54mbps..some wireless card could go 108mbps..

I've seen the real things myself.... and I'm very impressed... Design is very good for a budget laptop at this price range.. Doesn't look cheap at all...
And the keyboard and touchpad, good.. Its good to see that the ergnomic Lenovo keyboards are available in almost all new Lenovo units (They even have external keyboards with that layout, typist do look out for them hehe)
The design is good, looks slim at 1st glance, but if you look throughly, its quite thick haha
I would say its a good lappy, but you might want to extend the warranty for peace of mind

I bought the 2299 one.. The laptop is treating me nicely except for the wireless card -.- but sometimes when i'm watching youtube video it will suddenly go green graphic card problem?

i got one G470 for my bro last May during PC Fair.

last week the screen got few black spots and looks like black oil leaking inside.

sent to lenovo sc, they said its due to user faulty. no warranty for that.
WTH?? it's only 3 mths old and with no user negligence, i wonder how it could become like that.

my bro confirmed he didn't drop it or whatsoever, but still lenovo said its due to user faulty. can this be brought to consumers claim tribunal?

i bought G470 i5-2410M + AMD HD6370 in March 2011 and the wireless network card is so suck can only receive between 58Mbps to the highest 72Mbps from TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless N Adsl2+ modem but now i got Prolink 300Mbps Usb Wifi Adapter and im really 'flying high'

when carrying it on a daily basis I already feel that its heavy .. in fact its a burden to carry it on daily basis.
