Hi guys need some feedback

How much space does a normal DVD take and how much time does it take to convert the DVD and then sync it into the ipad ?
Can iTunes be used or any other recommended converter And format ?
Also
Can all DVDs be watched on the ipad or there's still some regional locked cases ?
