Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Yes. Called them 4 times in 3 days. Really fed-up.

Personal equipment
Modem: Hua Wei (given by TM)
Router: Dlink DIR-615 (given by TM)
Firewall used: not sure

Problem details
First occurence of problem: 4 days ago
Problem frequency: every night around 10-12
Problem description:

Has anyone experience slow dowload speed running speedtest or TM speedtest? Few days ago I find my unifi like not moving. Play YouTube video clips lagging. So I did a speedtest and to my suprise the ping time is 1016ms, download speed 0.2mbps and upload speed 3.21mbps. I called unifi technical team at the support number and asking him whether my area has unifi problem, he told me no. Then he ask me to use LAN cable to connect my notebook to the dlink router and run speedtest again. Downloading speed still very slow, almost same as connect via wireless. So he ask me to capture screenshot and send to their email address. I sent thr email with screenshot as requested. The next day, I received an email from TM support asking for a screenshot again, so I reached home after work and send in the screenshot again after running speedtest again. The download speed better at 1.1mbps. So I call the technical team again and they told me they are escalating my problem to higher level.

Today 30 mins ago, I try speedtest again an my download speed drop to 0.2mbps. It had been 2 days as yesterday I didn't call them. So just now I called TM again and this lady over the phone tell me they are doing maintenance upgrade and during peak hours, I will experience slow in speed. So I asked her what time is peak hours, she told me it's 3pm - 1am.... Means for working ppl like me, night time no need use Internet at all??

Anyone has similar problem like me? I really fed up using unifi now.. Pay for 5mbps and get 0.2mbps. Any suggestion to help?

they need to do test from their side. nothing that you can do from your end.

it might be the ftth box problem or the server exchange box.

patient a bit.

my fren staying in usj also complaining about this slowdown issue.

im using unifi vip5 and staying in bandar utama area and i must say that the line is blazing fast here...as u can see from my speedtest siggy...

last few months the unifi tech told me that they were upgrading something on their side.after maintenance my line has never dropped or slowed down...

u need to give this unifi idiots some time to do their stuff...

Hi all, until to-date I am still receiving SMS from them stating that they are still checking on the problem. I will give them a call again and see what is their status on resolving. I will keep posted here for their reply.

Same here. Been receiving that sms for 3 weeks now but still no changes. Am complaining to CFM and MCMC now asking for a rebate. Enough is enough! Would appreciate if all users suffering from the same problem do the same so some changes will be made by TM!

Having the same problem in PJ Sec 17 area .... only happens at 7 pm onwards till about midnight.... slow speed .... but after that .. will resume back to the original 5 mbps

u r right..im staying in 17 also..if i aint mistaken, unifi having difficulties in the japan earthquake side..im using 20mbps but i worst the jaring speed..no doubt these really giving me headache a lot..even worst im the unifi agent..LOL how i gonna promote now then?

The max I can achieve at night is:

UL: 110 Kb (that's about 800 kbps)... that's worst than my Streamyx connection ... I rather use my Maxis 3G to go online at this point in time

Then after about 1 am ... speed will come back to 5 Mbps ... been happening for the last 2 nights already ... what's going on ???

Anyways, TM is definitely having some sort of routing issue. I've been calling them for a week now about this. Every other day I will call the Unifi Centre.

My 20mb unifi gets around 2.5-3mb.... at night I'll get about 0.5mb...
Really fed up these days... Previously I was able to get about 22mb

What makes you think that our 4mbps download speed is faster?

It's slow too and uploads don't even come near to what you have.

yes I think you are correct. My friend who works at TM said their 'BRAS' having congestion issue due streamyx and unifi... what he told me TM already buy/setup new BRAS and migration has been going on.. Last night if I am not mistaken my friend said unifi from Wangsa Maju and Sungai Buloh were migrated to new 'BRAS'. I think TM already announce this migration stuff at their websites..

I stay in USJ 11 with Unifi VIP 5. I have slow down issue for like a month ago...and my speedtest is lower than 1Mbps.

Btw, I agree that the speed becomes normal from 4am-10am. Other than that, the speed is horrible.

This is what I get from Unifi (SMS)

"Dear valued Customer,

Referring to your complaint to our call centre created on 20/3/2011, we would like to inform you that the delay of restoration you have experienced with Unifi service (slow connection) are currently related to our technical and network issue. As TM UniFi Centre (TMUC) is still in the midst to come out with a constructive progress, please be informed that your case is being investigated accordingly by other respective network department for resolution purposes.

Hi all... Yesterday evening I experience no internet connection again (the IP address changed to funny numbers like 153.40.xxx.xx) and I called Unifi Technical division for assistance and they told me my report filed in Mar11 still yet to be closed. Then he told me the network upgrading still in progress for USJ area. sad.gif

Anyone else in USJ area experience this problem too?

Really pissed off with the Unifi service now...

i also slow downloading.... when new very fast can get 2mbps download speed. after 6 month very slow max 200kpbs.... call complain good little bit after 3 days againt. speed like before i using streamyx. dont know why pay rm150? ask tm refund $$$ their all cheater lah.
speed test i get almost 5mbps. but i download file very slow.

dude this is a 1 year old thread
download depends on the seeders (if torrent) and depend on the server capacity if direct download.
im using vip20 and i also got sometimes download at 250kb/s only

try posting ur speedtest result here

just had this experience. used to get 4.7mbps dl 4.7mbps ul on speedtest, now getting 0.2-1.7 dl and a funny 6-8mbps ul. bangi area. called them 4 times already. i asked them if they are doing upgrading/maintenance, they said yes but not in my area. and they couldn't explain why.

one stupid info that the customer service tell me was 'there is no complaints in my area', so i told them, 'well i'm the first to report, have u ever think that they don't realise it yet or maybe they just busy and couldn't bother to do a report? because my frens in the area are telling me the same thing but they didn't report, they may had other priorities u stupid'. ofcourse i apologize to him (the customer service guy) for calling him stupid after that, but he knows i'm fed up.

another thing i fed up is they use the '2years contract' as a punch line or a defend/threat thing, i asked them if i could cancel unifi and they said that, it hurts a lot whenever they say it coz now i feel like the most stupid person ever for signing up unifi. i know that it's 24months contract, but the way they use it as a threat/punch line thing really hurts LOL.

now, my maxis broadband is better than unifi even when it rains lah. fibre my ass......
