Add me in SGA user =) Bought it the day before yesterday for price RM999 with a 8gb memory additional rm50. Have been using it so far so i'll give my opinions on it.Mine got double cover...matte black or white
1. Looks = Totally blew off by the new android looks (previous phone was k750i for more than 4 years) 2. Performance = The on screen keyboard and touch screens very responsive, as expected for a capacitive screen but i would even enjoy more if there was a stylus with it. 3.Media player = Music plays normally (did not impress me as the sound quality very normal but no problem at all) 4. Camera and Video rec = Camera wise for a 5mp is definitely a boost since my hp last time only 2.5 mp... so a decent cam but of course can't compare with x6's 5mp. Video rec very gud..smooth and playback is fine...loving the big screen.... I notice that the light is abit dark in the cam, so if ur in a pretty dark room u might not be able to cam anything. 5.Battery = I find the battery drains faster than my previous k750i ( which i barely use at all... ) Android phones do drain faster with it apps, and connectivity...so no complains AND IT CHARGES WHEN U PLUG IT TO THE PC... so it's a bonus compared to phones like x6. 6.Apps = Lots of free apps, lots of free games... downloaded a few from the market...1 thing ( maybe only for me cause i'm new to androids ) Is most of the apps DO charge u....i first time went maps and after awhile they charged me rm5... But luckily after that, all is free for the whole day.. ( Might consider changing data plan )
Now this is what i want to ask SGA users... can this phone last for 2years? or more? Of course i'm talking bout no drops/falls/software prob.... just the phone itself... cause my k760i can last 4 years and till today...i'm still doubting this phone...hope u guys can answer me =) I can't find any silicone case for this phone at the shop i bought it...only got screen protector so far...still worried =(

QUOTE(fuzore @ Mar 28 2011, 02:47 PM) are u a prepaid user like me then u need to untick the use packet data in settings... other way is if ur phone is rooted u can use droidwall which u can configure what suits u... for the sp n case u can pm lhongwuh for that.. how long will this phone last u... i dont think anyone can answer that for u depends on how u take care of it i guess... Yea, prepaid user... Yup, i know if don't want get charged have to do that...but that will make the apps meaningless? LOL..btw, Is it possible to use the apps like FB Youtube via WI FI? i don't have wi fi at home...so i wouldn't know

My questions:
Is ALL samsung galaxy aces has gorrila glass ( it won't even scratch a little? Im using screen protector so i wouldn't know)
How to arrange the main menu? Some of my games mix up with apps which is no big deal but i hope can arrange them 1 by 1 (not talking bout the home screen)
Will clearing my ram damage the phone performance? I always clear them when i finished using the phone for a time
Papago that u guys talking about is free? ( I know there is a paid version..but is there a free version? )
I can't use the swype function...I know it's there, but anything i nid to enable/disable and how to use it? Press on the keys and slide to another?
Thanks to whoever that can answer my doubts =)

Just a little reminder for those of you who don't know, I bought a Iphone silicone case AND IT DOESN'T FIT NICELY.. I'm using it only for temporary so if the shopkeeper say it fits..it's a lie...and the camera place also not same so yea... If you are desperado for protecting ur ace yet cant find silicone case then only u can consider it.
Note: I do want to buy from some of you but have no experience in on9 trading...

QUOTE(HateFakers @ Apr 5 2011, 12:53 PM) Help needed..I moved a video from my pc to my Ace and it ended up in a folder called DCIM..when i wanna play it displayed ''no application could perform this action''..does this mean i have to install Real Player etc? Ok...chill and check what format is the video...Galaxy ace can't play .avi files...not even with realplayer or any player so far...a sadding stuff but... U can always convert the video to a better format which i recommend is Iphone format h.264 ( the quality is preserved with this format ) and if u change to formats like mp4 most likely the video become smaller or might pixelate... let me noe if u want to know a video converter i can pm u

Hm, i noticed apps like dictionary/news weather/navigation/location/google maps/voice search ALL require packet data charges? When i disabled packet data none of this is usable... sad
