My setting is like this :

I enable the Use packet data, untick use only 2G networks.
Then for APn part, Maxis 3G MMS APN type i choose only MMS.
For Maxis 3G internet APN type i also choose only MMS.

Conclusion is, both of the APNs i choose for ONLY MMS.
If the default of Maxis 3G internet APN type should be internet+mms.
Try to change it to mms only.
