last week just brought pioneer deh-5250sd hu . after install and play song , i found that sound is smaller compare my last sony explod hu . since sony hu can heard loud at volume 18 while pioneer hu need tune till 38 ( 50 full ) . i know pioneer can adjust audio setting , but i not familiar about kind setting inside custom EQ .maybe exist pioneer user can share your fine setting for sound quality ??

my previous amp setting is :
2 CH AMP
bandpass full (LPF/FULL/HPF), bass 30% , trebble 40% , gain 20% .

MONOBLOCK
bandpass LPF ( LPF/FLAT), sub sonic ON , gain 60% , sub x-over 50% (50HZ-500HZ), 6DB ( 0DB/6DB/12DB) , phase 0' (0'/180') .

did i need re-setting the amp match new hu ?? rclxub.gif

a cheapo hu with max volume at 20 dials
a better hu with max volume at 50 dials
a great hu with max volume at 80 dials

we assume the max volume your system can go is 110DB before clipping, so now your sony got only 20 dials and 18 dials give u the max volume, which is about 90%. Now the pioneer are giving u 50 dials and 38 give u the max volume which is about 76%. Instead, ur system are going louder, not softer.

why?
because we calculating the pre-out voltage by percentage. Not by the number displayed.

why now your pioneer are only using 76% already giving u the max volume? the reason is simple..it has higher pre-out voltage.

[all case above are valid if there's no adjustment on other equipment's setting]

Added on March 10, 2011, 1:55 pmto me, ur amp gain setting is consider ok. no need to tune the gain unless u got the stuff to fine tune it...scoping will help
