Halfway thru this figure.Much prefer this to Play House ST10.




Trying out Armsrack M249 with M4 buttstock.Overall a decent saw gun.

SAD v2.0 is one of the harder boxset to kit from SS.Some tips for you:
Loose the inner shirt so your jacket hang on your figure more natural and better articulation.
Have some superglue to fix breakage here and there.
Bulk up thigh and butt-cheeks with foam or make-up cotton pad so your pants doesn't look too baggy.
As for pouches,lots of patience and good tweezer.I did used some thread and needle to secure pouches on waist belt as the loop won't secure molle straps.
Have fun.

Those tips are the basic 101 for 12" military kit-bashing.There are just steps to make your figure pose and appear more natural.

Usually I download all the promo pics of the boxset I'm getting,so during assembling you have a better idea of what goes where.

Depend on whether you are buying the 1st batch or 2nd batch.My 1st batch is missing flashlight trigger for assault rifle.Just a small defect from factory.2nd batch,they replace sidearm on vest with shotgun shells pouch.

For those starting in military figures,it's highly recommended to check out Spec Figures in KLCC Kinokuniya.It's the bible for 12in military figure,cost around 150++.You'll get insight of how to do up a figure and showcase of talented kit-basher from japan.

SAD v1.0 gears is outdated as Ciras vest is phasing out in US Army operation.On top of that,it don't really look good on 1/6th scale because of too many layers.Your fig will look like hamburger.Just my opinion.

You can send request to V-store or wait for their Very Hot restock as just met him few days back.He did mentioned he got shipment coming in from Very Hot soon.

Decide to take a leap of faith on Crazy Dummy.After all this is their first official boxset and furthermore the market is abundant with similar looking seals.
To my surprise,the gears is really well made and quality is really good.I enjoy kitting this figure more than PH's Seal Team 10.


The good:
Paint-job on HS is really great.Resemblance really spot-on.
Vest and pouches is on par with SS.
Body built and articulation is similar to HT.
MK48 is solid and put HT's version to shame.The new bi-pod design is much more sturdy.
Metal bullets with chain cuffs for MK48.
The bad:
You can easily get the same gears from other brands.
Bendable glove is a pain for holding the machine gun.

My retailer also got hold of Arms-rack shipment,so I bought M249 and M46 to see how Arms-Rack compare to CD's Mk48.

The good:
M249 has more accessories compare to the other 2 variants.
Decent detailing.
The bad:
All variants has the same scope.
Filmsy joints here and there.
Tan versions paint has a sticky finishing which felt like wet paint.
Plastic bullets.
Bland gun sling.
Should include laser aim or flashlights for additional accessories.

Depending on your taste,some prefer grunts like marines or 101st airborne,then there are spec-ops operator like Delta and Navy Seal.
As of right now everyone eagerly waiting for Nightstalker which is something really exceptional.
A lot of kit-basher rated Playhouse's Marine as one of the best military release in recent years.
For me the best is still my 1st kit-bash.Beckham SAS.Kakaka

Decent sniper bashes.

ZYToys gonna release a new sniper set with the latest load-out as seen in action today.But ZY's Barret is disappointing.
Hope down the road hope there will be a multicam version.

Very nice announcement from TC.Come to think of it,I don't have any PJ figure yet but better wait a little while to see what's SS is releasing next.

DrFigures Oakley Gloves.Guess now it's obsolete as didn't see V-store restock them for awhile.TTL/Toyscity came out with carded set of it that looks closer to HT(Tan/Brown).

The Dr.Figures hi-tec glove is pretty good as you don't need to do any modding on wrist peg.I like the soft rubber material they used.As for Playhouse,not too sure the wrist pin can accept SS version.

ToysCity/TTL has very loose joint.Need to use those white plumber tape to thicken wrist peg so it can stay put in position.

Another option is to get VHT black oakley gloves (They are remold from HT) and paint it to your heart's content.Need to mod wrist peg.

The reason why more soldier opt for mechanix glove is because of the cost.Mechanix is available from USD 20++ whereas Oakley's cost around USD 70.

Nomex and hi-tec still set you back about USD 40++

It's a rip-off of HT TT design.Some joints can be loose after awhile.It also serve as a very good entry box set to 1/6th military figure with it's simple load-out.

A highly recommended buy.

Anyhow Headplay is comprised of those ex-EB workers.Their notoriety for screwing up Storm Warriors and BL bootleg.For me if their products is reasonable priced and of certain quality,why not.

My money does not exactly grow on tree.

Guess HT forgotten how they started as well.During the 12" military explosion back in late 90's or early 2000s they did some unofficial licensing figure as well.George Lucas and Keanu Reeves Matrix.And the countless famous HS on their military boxset.
Given the fact they are huge right now and those licenses really cost a bomb to obtain.So the move by HT is expected.
