set your phone to Manual Retrieve
then each time any mms notified you can choose Retrieve or Delete
there should be no charges for the notification as it's received under sms protocol

if your phone still register with the network, meaning the Maxis name appears on the screen and you can receive call and sms, then still got hope

better call Maxis or better visit one their main centres

my line cannot call 122 yet still can call the other helpline 11311

but certainly by now any credit balance will be bakar
*
finally my Hotlink line was cut now

service cancellation date = 28 October 2011 (50 days after expiry)

termination date = 16 November 2011

so it seems there's about 2-3 weeks gap in which it may be possible to ask Maxis to reinstate (but all credit, bonus and points are lost on the cancellation date)

i doubt so because its your phone that retrieve it. On nokia phones we can turn it off. Or you can just delete your access point from your phone.

Hey there, I want to jump from digi to maxis due to bad reception in my area. The thing is, I need a plan for my smartphone that has minimal calls/sms commitment but has tons of data (5gb above). My budget is 200 max monthly. Please advise thank you.

RM200 budget is quite a large sum. You should opt for postpaid plans. Choose a principal line plan for your voice and SMS and on top of that choose a monthly internet plan.

Please visit Maxis official website for postpaid plan choices bro.

An example of various types of Internet plan for a postpaid line :

The link you quoted above is for the older hotlink offering which has been shelved.

This is the new one.

I was using Maxis 3G and then I surfed this 'Maxis 3G Internet' website and it started to load fast, to about 180kb+ (data loaded). Then I stopped it before it loaded any further and check my balanced.

It ate RM3+ ???WTF doh.gif

The complication is Hotlink website is still using New Hotlink Plan to describe what is now the old version.

If you go to FAQ on the same page, click General Enquiries (note New Hotlink Plan shows at the top), scroll down to Staying Active and it clearly implies 90 days for RM5 topup or Hot Ticket.

Nowhere is it clearly stated what validity one gets for topup under the new plan, but Maxis confirmed to me via email and in their Maxis Forum that it is back to basically 1 day for RM1 for RM10 upwards.

I had been monitoring Hotlink website a few months now in the expectation they would do something about this, but nothing has changed. Maxis appears to me to be committing an offence of false description of services in an advertisement under the Trade Descriptions Act 2011.

SKMM should oblige all telcos to publish full details of all their active plans that are still in use, so the customers can make informed choices of whether so-called upgrading to a new plan is actually in their best interests or not.

Maxis could help by drawing a comparision table between the New and Old Hotlink plans instead of comparing the new plan only with DiGi and Celcom's current prepaid plans.

Xpax have done a good job here
