Hi guys, in your opinion which is better? I know both are totally in different categories (one is a AVR + 5.1 NS-P280 speakers) and the other is a HTiB.

But in terms of the speaker quality, AVR quality (I got to know it won't decode HD - will this be rectified if I get a HD Media box, and connect it to the AVR using HDMI?)

It's a bit kinda too late as I have already swapped my purchase (returned Pioneer for Yamaha) but I would just like to know - did I make a good decision?

My main gripe is the Yamaha speakers doesn't seem to sound as "right" as Pioneer. But being an AVR I suppose when I strike it rich next time I can change the speakers.

Having some after-sales jitters / doubts so good to have some assurance from sifus here. :S

Added on March 9, 2011, 2:10 pmAlso the price difference is RM600

Pioneer 1399 / Yamaha set RM1999

Thank you.

I've already set up the speakers and AVR and while I'm not very happy with the unit, I know sometime later I can slowly upgrade it piece by piece.
