Orait, I have a 40" LED TV and I just finished building my HTPC. Now I'm planning to buy a speaker system. So I just want to ask whether is it suitable for me to buy a 5.1 PC speaker system (E.G - Logitech, Altec Lansing etc) or typical Home Theater speaker system (eg - Sony, JVC, LG, Samsung). What are pros and cons between both?

Thanks

the HT system can double up as a DVD/Bluray player...
with some of these you can have the rear speakers as "wireless" (no speaker cable from front to back, but need power supply at rear still)

The PC system as pictured is more portable and i'd imagine in most cases... cheaper...

I think for many a time I have recommended everyone to use a dedicated AV Amp with hifi speakers, even 2nd hand, which I believe will sound anytime better than the package system.

This is an example of a system for sale --> Sample used set for very good price.

You can slowly upgrade the speakers etc..

Do try your best to use wired speaker for best overall control. I know it looked ugly. But after 2 weeks, you and your wife will forgive its appearance.
