Panasonic need to bring their 3D tech to lower series. It looks like Samsung is very aggressive with 3D tech for 2011 and available from their low Series 4 all the way up. For entry level 51" (yes, xtra one inch) Full HD panel, the PS51D550 had build in 3D plus one free glasses. Price around RM 4.5k. Let's see what's Panasonic pricing strategy for 2011 model.

I hope the ST series that is supposed to be entry level is priced the same as what the Sammy is supposed to be. This will help.

Hope they can bring in 50" ST30 to around RM5k with free glasses. I always like Panny service support which is fast and no fuss. 55" below RM 6.5k would push me to consider upgrading.

Mmmm... If don't want the Bluray and Skype Camera, can get at RM 15k? My friend and I been looking at either Samsung 64D8000 or Panny 65VT30. We prefer Panasonic due to better service. Previously my friend had 2 dead pixel with his PY800 and Panasonic support upgrade his unit to PY850 FOC.

Check out the avsforum. There is a comparison between VT30 vs D8000. I believe VT30 is the better plasma tv compare to D8000. Support definitely is Panasonic. 3D is better on Panasonic. D8000 should be slightly cheaper. If it is same price, VT30 would be my pick. Samsung is thinner but make no difference to me as I wall mount the tv. I just want a big screen, nice 3D and tons of tuning option.

I had some concern on the type of panel our VT30 compare to US model. I see that it is listed as Infinite Black Pro but US model is Infinite Black Pro 2. Do we get the last gen panel from US for VT30? It happen with VT20 model.

Asian = Pay more, get less.

Same as Denon 4311. I check with Audyssey and our unit cannot use Audyssey Pro tuning. Initially I plan to get the Pro Kit that we can share out and just buy the license for each AVR for USD 150 only but too bad we get castrated unit.
