PETALING JAYA: Panasonic Malaysia is offering a cloud-based Internet service called Viera Connect in six of its new flat-panel Viera TV models.

The new plasma models are TH-P65VT30K, TH-P50VT30K, TH-P55ST30K and TH-P50ST30K. The screen sizes of the models range from 42in to 65in.

The new LED LCD models are TH-L37DT30K and TH-L42E30K. The TH-L37DT30K is a 37in model that offers 3D full HD LED technology while the TH-L42E30K is a 42in model that offers full HD LED technology.

The Viera Connect service allows users to enjoy news content, social networking, health and fitness activities, games, and a variety of other applications in addition to the standard movie and television programmes.

There are also plans to introduce more applications that deliver local news and sports content to Viera Connect in the future, the company said.

Panasonic said Viera Connect is a major step up from the recently introduced Viera Cast, which allows Viera TV owners to utilise web applications such as Skype and YouTube on its Viera TVs.

Viera Connect will also allow users to control their compatible Viera TVs from their iPhone or iPad devices via the Viera remote application.

Some of the Viera Connect services available include YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Skype.

The TH-L37DT30K and TH-L42E30K retails at RM4,999 and RM3,699 respectively. The pricing for the plasma models was not available at press time.
