When is Panasonic coming out with the successor to the V20K series. I'm eyeing to get a 50" Plasma and the U30K series is not the one I want.

Just saw the 50VT30 from KL Digital Expo, the panel is indeed nicer than other series. Too bad they're playing some low quality video, can't really see its true picture quality. The TV costs RM9999 with quite a few free gifts like BD player, BluRay disc etc.

Hi guys, just now I went to PIKOM Digital Lifestyle and I saw this Panasonic Viera TH-P42U30K FULL HD Plasma TV and interested to buy it, but some questions arise in my head.
If I am going to use it as my Main monitor from my laptop and of course the TV function, any idea how much will it cost monthly (roughly) let say I use about 10 hrs a day? And any of you guys using this Plasma TV? Any review on it? Price there was RM1799, any better price? Thanks a lot, really hope you guys can help me to answer all this questions, as I'm very interested in it. This post has been edited by eRicK89: Jul 30 2011, 01:14 AM |

I would advise against using a plasma as a computer monitor. While burn in is less of a problem these days, it is still a problem to consider if u r planning to leave static images on the display for long periods of time.If I am going to use it as my Main monitor from my laptop and of course the TV function, any idea how much will it cost monthly (roughly) let say I use about 10 hrs a day? Thanks bro for the advice, I have some question, is burn in permanent? And from what I heard there are some company that sell Blu-Ray disc/DVD to help reduce the burn-in, is that true?If power consumption is a concern, I would go for a led backlit lcd instead. Usually I use my computer to watch movies and video call (most of the time I spent using my laptop) and turn off the laptop if I don't use it. And about power consumption, I don't quite concern. Thanks in advance. This post has been edited by eRicK89: Jul 30 2011, 04:17 PM |

As long as proper preacaution is taken, u shd be ok, but if there are long static (with high contrast), ie windows bar, static images and the images come on at the same location in the display, use it long enuf, it can be a cause for concern. If u vary content and heed the advice, u shd be ok. |

And u said about the duration, how long did u talking about? BTW I heard u provide some service regarding calibration stuff? Oh ya if let say I buy the LED backlit LCD, any idea which one is good? budget RM 1800 below. Once again thanks in advance. This post has been edited by eRicK89: Jul 30 2011, 07:16 PM |
