32 are still ok for pregnancy, my wife delivers at age 31 & 33 respectively icon_rolleyes.gif no issue at all.
Our gynae recommends to have babies before the age of 35, as the risk increases with age factor.
But some as old as 50s still can deliver a healthy baby.

Proper diet for both of u are important too, just have healthy diet and exercise regularly is good enuf.

Once your wife is pregnant, the gynae will prescript her with folic acid, calcium, and mutil vitamin pills as supplements.

just take it easy to conceive, it's the quality that matters, not quantity brows.gif

if both are, then your baby will have a high chance to have anemia

only if BOTH are carrier then there's a very big chance the baby will have anemia

Hi,

Im not sure my understanding of Thalassemia is similiar. If both yes, the baby will not live more than 21 years old (thats what the old people believe) but if only either yes, should be no problem rite. Are we refering the same? Btw, we already check and are not.

I do have friends at 30's give birth was fine and vice verse also, hence i abit worry of my wife condition at this age only. And seek more advice for preparation and others let it to fate...

If it is not first baby, i guess is fine compare to first baby at later age. I know nowadays woman get married late and give birth also late. As it is also depends on the woman fertility too and luck too...i guess..

then it's good then, one of my friend didn't go for blood test, unknowing both are carrier, they only found out when she's 2 months pregnant that she's a carrier, then the hubby went for blood test also, also a carrier, don't want taking risk, they decided to do abortion. sad.gif

If both are carrier, there's 50% chance the baby will be born with anemia, but if either one is a carrier, then there's 25% chance the baby is a carrier

in my case, my wife is a carrier, and luckily i'm not. Both kids are healthy, but now confirmed my eldest kid is a carrier, which has no impact on her daily life whatsoever.

don't worry about if only one side is a carrier, there's no way that the baby will be anemia
only 25% will be the carrier, that's all wink.gif

Ok, make it simple:
If EITHER one is a carrier, then
25% chance baby will be a carrier
75% chance baby will be normal, non-carrier

if BOTH are carrier, then
50% chance baby will have anemia
25% chance baby will be a carrier
25% chance baby will be normal, non-carrier

It's the 50% fatal chance that most people are scared of, but some couple are still taking chances, betting on that other 50% chance
