Dear BLM owners,

I've got myself a BLM for approx. 2 years soon already .. and now I noticed that there are sounds from the driving shaft whenever I pass through road bumps (when the car starts shaking while passing) and the engine seems to be another issue as well.

The sounds of like something loosen when you left go off the acceleration pedal or while you are stepping on it.

Does anyone here face such problems before ? .. Any solution to this ?

*
I ask some of the mechanic and they mentioned about that. smile.gif
But I haven't asked them to fix anything yet. Thats why i am here ..

just know i tested by new abs
i found out that my previous OEM abs...when doing hard turn or U-turn...it tends to have "kruk kruk" sound
just now i U-turn...suddenly realised there is none of that sound anymore
sure is a nice abs...and cornering is really good

Added on May 22, 2011, 12:22 pm
i dn't think it's the drive shaft la..the drive shaft is way below there
and none of the members have problems with it...only rust problem only
can carefully explain what is your problem?...which part of the inside is shaking
*
Its like when you are driving down / up the parking lots (ie shopping malls), the road will be bumpy right ? Then the sound will be produced when your car is shaking.
And the engine part will be during acceleration or releasing the gas pedal, the sound will be there like loosen screws. Got no idea what had happened .. sad.gif
It used to be one of the common problem I encountered with my past experience when driving Proton Wira.

QUOTE(sa10 @ May 22 2011, 12:32 PM)
almost same issue as u. what noise u hear? mine is having a tak sound like metal knocking coming from left suspension (im not sure which part so i could only say it is from suspension)
i told technician the problem while claiming IAFM and was informed will be going to check and try to resolve the problem when replacing IAFM at the same time.
what is the possibility of the noise? mainly drive shalf? worn bushes? or what?
*
My came from both sides as long as it goes pass those bumpy roads. Some mechanic said its normal to have such problem dont need to change any parts, some said driving shaft, some said engine mounting structure ..

Really got confused with different feedbacks.

*
Last time I did mention to the mechanics over at the 3S Centre, Damansara about the noise issue. After checking they said is nothing wrong. But after service the sound is still there .. and worse part is they peel off the cover of the steering wheel and its loosen after that. 2 sounds coming at the same time in the end .. mad.gif

if it from the outside of the car or the inside???
is it like metal shaking sound?...if it's from the outside thn it's the abs

and the during acceleration or releasing the gas pedal...
did u try when something shakes...try your left leg go press abit the brake...abit only
see the noise gone or not
cuz mine is the brake pedal but i didn't fix it becuz everytime i go SC and ask them to check the brake pedal
they check the disc brake instead..they check outside not inside
so i give up
*
Yea ! Its from the outside like metal shaking sound .. Abs ? Does that means I need to change a new one ?

Stepping the gas pedal and brake at the same time ? But the sound seems like coming from the engine itself rather than the wheels. What do you think ? unsure.gif

QUOTE(MR_alien @ May 22 2011, 02:00 PM)
ah...thn yes it's the abs
no need to change the new one unless u want so
it's normal sound actually...this is becuz the abs is very soft compare to other abs
that is why u get a very comfortable ride....if u change the abs..other abs would be harder compare to this abs
the sound will be gone but the ride would be abit more bumpier

no..i dn't mean stepping gas and brake at the same time
what i mean is when u go the sound...try to use your left feet hold it firmly only
see if the sound is gone
cuz it's the pedal that is vibrating

Added on May 22, 2011, 2:01 pm
"ringgggg"??
"kruk kruk" have la
ringg is first time i heard...maybe it's the washer that is vibrating resulting the ring sound
*
Thanks for the tip,MR_alien.
Really appreciate it very much. If that's the case I guess I won't be changing anything at the moment till it reaches the stage of necessity. I will give a try on the method u mentioned for the brake pedal vibration issue and lets see how it goes.

Thank you. smile.gif

the point of changing the abs is when the small small yellow bump that usually doesn't feel anything feels like a really big hole or a huge bump
that is when u need to change
probably is around 4 years after u got your car
depending on what road u r driving on...if always highway smooth road...it would last a lot lot longer than that

Added on May 22, 2011, 2:37 pm
lol...i know what is turbo sound
i never heard supercharger sound?...how is it like?
*
Most of the time, the roads that I travel is among the highway type and of coz roads with yellow bumps whether its my office building or my condo area.
At the moment the sounds of the abs is slowly getting louder ..

mine driving on sabah road also last 4 years
recently only change
your straight road also have sound?...if yes thn u can try take back to SC and let them check
cuz mine hard turn only have this sound
*
Hmm .. I see. I guess I still can take it on this sound issue. SC I dont really trust them sometimes when they simply just check your car's condition and charged us at a high price while the problem is still unsolved.
Sigh ..

what does that mean?...why the gap so far?

I mean I've done with the final service by the SC which is free for the first 3 times. After that I went to workshops outside instead of the SC already.

boss, what transmission ur car? total mileage?

boss, is it vibrating or only sound? if ur car vibrating when braking, i think ur car got problem with brake pad...

*
Are you sure its the brake pad, Bro .. ?
Its when I accelerate or letting go the pedal .. the sound comes from the engine as if there is something loosen like a screw hitting the walls like that.

Helo. want to ask about roadtax here. icon_question.gif  tis is my very2 1st car. dunno anything.  sweat.gif  doh.gif
Ok, my roadtax will due next month. How and where to pay for it bcause my grant at the bank (loan of course).
Then how much we must pay for road tax + insurance for BLM SE. hmm.gif

Reply much appreciate. Tq. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
When its my 1st time dealing with it - during the period close to the due date, insurance companies will start calling me almost every week seeking for my approval with their packages.
I've done everything through the phone and of coz MyEG as well. It took me approx RM1.3K ++ if I am not mistaken.

Dear Bro, my answers are as stated below :-

1) Well, you could try recording the sound and posting it here?
• Its abit difficult to record the sound as it comes from the engine and it won't be really that loud if I wind down the window as well.

2) Are there any abnormal vibrations or not?
• At the moment there wasn't any abnormal vibrations - just that besides this issue, is my car abs that making sound whenever going pass the road bumps doesn't matter at fast or slow pace.

3) The sound only happens when you press the accelerator and let go the accelerator?
• Yes, at the moment it will happen either this 2 event take place.

4) It's a sharp loose metal sound? Like nail fall on floor?
• Its like a loosen screw hitting within the four walls between it. There is other sound that shakes when I drive along the bumpy roads (ie not smooth ones) - due to the new door that had been replaced after accident.

Thanks Bro. smile.gif

@MR_alien
I have tried the ways you mentioned earlier on try to balance the brake pedal to avoid the annoying sound but it seems to be not working. Guess its time to check out with the mechanic again ? .. As the sound is getting louder and more obvious. sweat.gif

yes...earlier batch all have this problem
u can send back to SC and let them fix it for u
but if u can bare the sound...thn no need change
it's not faulty by the way...only annoying
how to verify?...when hit 80KM/H...there is an airplane sound...means it works
*
You mean if my car hits about 80KM/H .. but default there will be airplane sound ?
Mine I guess no airplane sound but the engine makes heavier noise when accelerating till 100KM/H
They didn't seem to have checked or fixed it for me either after 3 times service @ SC.
