QUOTE(Atsutane-Shirane @ Mar 12 2011, 05:28 PM) Actually it depend on kernel speed and the type of governor... Stock kernel using 1Ghz speed and ondemand governor (cant remember is it ondemand or something else)... Custom kernel can use speed above 1Ghz and performance governor... By average custom kernel with 1.2Ghz and performance governor can reach 2.5k score... owh.. but its considered overclocking? if for prolonged use will it damage my phone hardware?Edit : Erm syuki how bout making guide to flash back to stock rom as well? Cause i read back previous postings.. if we flashed into a different radio is it complicated to restore back the orginal? This post has been edited by tarbana90: Mar 12 2011, 05:48 PM |

QUOTE(Calex @ Mar 12 2011, 05:50 PM) If the kernel is a undervolt one, there's no worry about shortening lifespan cause it does not add additional voltage. Only the overvolt kernels are the one you take risks of. oh.. undervolt means using the same voltage as stock rom will use? but the custom rom CPU will still run at a higher freq? which is >1ghz? |

QUOTE(syuki @ Mar 12 2011, 06:13 PM) just do Nandroid backup. boot into CWM and choose backup&restore.. then backup. owh.. meaning we dont need to S-OFF to enter CWM recovery mode?EDIT: no need to off or on process anything.. but of coz you need to switch on your phone. Btw.. if lets say i want to restore my stock rom and radio, etc.. i just need to restore back my nandroid backup then everything will be back to normal just like when i had my phone before i flash a custom rom?(with stock kernel,Radio and S-ON) |

QUOTE(syuki @ Mar 12 2011, 06:39 PM) wait, i didn't get you.. you said you want to backup custom ROM, which is i assume you already do permroot, Radio S-OFF and ENG S-OFF is it..? Thx for the reply meaning right now your phone already been flashed custom ROM..? Added on March 12, 2011, 6:43 pm yes.. and S-ON you need to do manually.. can find the guide in XDA.. no problem, helping each other to gain more experience.. Owh.. i plan to flash to ARHD3.1.. are there any known bugs to this version that i should look out for? And how bout the battery life for this rom? |

QUOTE(raven143 @ Mar 12 2011, 08:14 PM) Haha. Flashed stock Rom to hd 3.1 . Going to try to install the new radio now. Apn settings for celcom is correct but still no hsdpa signal. Will try the recommended radio later. Radio s off done. How to verify radio s off is actually done to phone. And yeah.. 3.1 really save the battery.. significantly... Nice.. hopefully after i flash my rom, battery will be good xD oops.. one more question.. if i only want to have longer battery life can i just flash new kernel and radio? and not the rom? QUOTE(monza84 @ Mar 12 2011, 08:44 PM) Nope, those custom rom are fully utilizing the custom kernel & radio that is recommended with it...though flashing custom kernel over your stock rom, maybe would increase the battery life a bit but still, not as affective as flashing it together with custom rom owh... okok thx i shall wait my battery charge full first then i flash |

QUOTE(Atsutane-Shirane @ Mar 14 2011, 07:13 PM) Anyone interested to becoming a lab rat..? oooh okok Judging by the number i dont think this is a Gingerbread update... because looking at HTC track record... a version jump will change into 2.* Added on March 14, 2011, 7:16 pm The changelog say: Improve system performance and Camera feature enhancements... Maybe it's nothing... you can try... btw where you get those informations |
