Well... ask your wife if she comfortable with DHD size... If yes, then why not since the experience with larger screen is great...

You asking for Desire or Desire HD..? Well if you asking for HD... For me it's good... the built quality is good... feel so solid on my hand... It just the battery is an issue with everyone... But if you asking for Desire... The device also solid rock... It just 3.7 not for me since i come from 4" X10... smile.gif

Trade the desire for Desire HD... thumbup.gif

Summary:

The device have different screen size... 4.3" & 3.7"
Desire HD have newer processor and new GPU than older Desire
The camera is 8MP for Desire HD & 5MP for Desire..
Desire HD have more internal memory than older Desire... So no problem installing too many apps...
Desire HD have more ram than older desire...

But if you looking for smaller device... why not consider Incredible S..? It is 4" and have the same spec as DHD... But availability is unknown...

There is no way to install directly unless you use custom rom (CM7 got option to install directly or other rom with app2d capability)...

I also don't know bout CID but from what i understand it's like superuser ID... GM ID... smile.gif

Don't know if normal phone shop have the replacement screen... Btw your AP or ORI...? Either way you can go to SiS for replacement but need to pay for item and repair charge...

Got some people say on other thread... SiS never bother to check the firmware... But just to be save... Why not try use this... And try see if you can get the latest update...

What i'm giving you is a RUU Asia WWE that have the same version and baseband as my stock rom... It will change your rom to stock, hboot to stock and radio to stock...

Hopefully it will help... Or you can ask someone else to upload their backup rom...
