Fruitie, be cheerful, I'm also working with contract basis. You are a capable girl, what kinda pain you like to share with your future bf? House? Never think to share a property with them if you haven't decide to marry them.  wink.gif There are many posibilities could be happenned if one day they run? Just my advice. nod.gif
*
Nah, no issue la. I'm a happy-go-lucky type, I'm happy that I earn more than enough (of course the more the better tongue.gif) for my personal consumption.
About BF, I was obviously joking. Nowhere I'm going to share buying a property with someone I'm still unsure, that has to be my husband or at least fiance. tongue.gif

QUOTE(karma888 @ Jan 9 2012, 02:05 PM)
property can only go up or stay stagnant. if u intend to buy, just do it with sufficinet research of course  smile.gif

as for bf issue, i can't help u. maybe other forummer here can?? hmm.gif
*
Eh, the BF part I was joking la. To me, my career matters the most now. biggrin.gif

increment of 2-3% is not even an increment at all!

normally applicable for the guys who gets ranked " needs improvement"

if u get this kind of ranking u also wont get good bonus lah
*
Actually oh, 4-5% increment is very normal in MNC. smile.gif
Because their basic is already high enough. smile.gif
I got more than 15% anyway, I'm in a MNC.
Reason being? I'm a contract basis employee. Else, I'll be stuck to 3-5% only.

Thanks for the reply, another question is, current i get few offers, if i turn them down, but few years i apply again for the same company, will they reject me because i rejected them before? or they will re-consider again?
*
It depends on companies.
The current company I'm working for, we don't consider people who rejected our offers before. tongue.gif
But we accept rehires. biggrin.gif

has anyone worked for cement industries as an engineer before, is RM2.7   underpaid for an Fresh Graduate? Please tell me thx
*
Yes, the average salary for a fresh grad. smile.gif Though, some industries have started to give 3k - 3.3k these days. smile.gif
I got mine at 2.8k in 2010. Not from cement industry, from telco. smile.gif
Still, salary is not the only thing to determine if you are accepting the offer or not.

Also, your position? What is your employment level? Employment type?
Fill up the info as per first post then we should be able to advise. smile.gif

Title is just a title. My boss is at managerial level yet her title is just a Consultant. smile.gif

What matters more is the salary and yeah her pay says it all.

To me, monetary is the most important thing for me. tongue.gif I'm safely to say I'm earning quite comfortably for just a puny potato Exec. laugh.gif

heard some people got 5k fresh grad sad.gif

Different job scopes, different risk, different nature of work, different background.
Of course it pays differently as well.

As I mentioned before an engineer at the same age as mine, started as fresh grad just like me but earns about 50% more than I do now.
He is an engineer and I'm a HR person, same industry, same company.
I'm earning 4k, he is earning nearly 6k now.

If yes, inclusive of allowances from his travel?

Overseas most of the time, Malaysia only for one customer. smile.gif
Nope, overseas allowance is excluded.
The amount I mentioned is for his basic + fixed allowances.

Hi Fruitie. Nice to meet you. ^^v

Well, thats a bit of a dillema for me now. I don't really have any background in payroll or even recruitment. They didn't really need anyone in that field when I joined. No such thing as talent management in this company at the moment. Heh..

I'm thinking of asking my senior to teach me a bit of recruitment at least...before I leave.

The closest I get to any HR specialised field is actually the staff attendance..if you can actually call that specialised..
*
To be honest, that's really difficult if you would like to seek for better opportunity. As you do not have bargaining power, I'm sorry to say that. If you Senior is willing to teach you, then please absorb as much as info that you can.

Let me briefly tell you my experience in HR field. I'm in my 3rd year now.

Right after my internship with this company (a MNC), they offered me a contractual post and my work for the past 2 years was very much into training & development, recruitment and little bit of compensation of benefits. However, during this time, I have showed to them my initiative to learn and this is proven by my performance. Though I'm not a higher performer but I think I fulfill my boss' requests all the time.

OK, then this year my role is changed again and I'm now a pure HR Generalist. Having said so, I took up payroll as well. Though, our payroll is outsourced to third party but I'm expected to deliver 100% accuracy with 0 error. Heavy responsibility but I took up the challenge. I think I'm doing pretty good as last month was my first month doing it but I have discovered few mistakes done by my predecessor. They thanked me for such discovery else it incurs more costs to the company.

My salary change: 2.8k (2010) > 3.5k (2011) > 4k (2012)

My point is opportunity is everywhere, you can grab but provided you have the substance to convert this opportunity into a valuable one.
