Hi everyone! =) I'm going to Korea next month for 3 weeks =) All 3 of us are girls and this is our first time backpacking XD I'd appreciate some input on my rough itinerary coz I've been bogged down with work up until now to plan in detail hehe.. We're going to couch surf so accommodation-wise we're covered =) This is my rough itinerary:

Friday, 1st july: Arrive at Korea, 9pm+++ going to spend the night at the airport coz we don't wanna trouble my Korean friend's parents.

2-6th/7th: Seoul

6th/7th-9th: Head to Busan aboard KTO's free shuttle bus(if we get the tickets XD)

10-12th: Gyeongju/Jeonju

13th: Head back to Seoul(If we get the free shuttle bus ticket). Spend 2 days there. Prolly spend 1 whole day in Nami Island lol~

15-18th: Gangwondo

19-22nd: Seoul =) Our flight back to Malaysia is on Friday night.. =)

We've done our research and all but haven't decided where to go in detail haha.. Everything is sorta swimming in our heads but by next week we'd like to finalize our detailed itinerary.

p/s: Would ₩ 45,000 be enough daily? We're breaking it down to;
-> ₩ 10k Admission fees to tourist places, ₩ 20k food, ₩ 15k                                          transport.

Since we're Muslims basically we'll be eating kimbap/bread and serunding brought from malaysia most of the time haha.. We'll prolly eat Korean/tasty food once a day XD

Any input is greatly appreciated =)

Hey there! =) I dunno yet if I'm visiting the sauna or not XD I posed a question quite some time ago about the attire for muslims.. But I've read a lot of posts in blogs etc that you have to bathe in public bath aka strip naked before you can use their other facilities in my case to sleep =)
yeah, heard bout that too... and i already confirmed with my korean friend bout this. So i am in the same situation
with you dear...go or not to go...but most probably NO~ kkkk~~~

but too bad since i really wanna try that sheep hat... cry.gif

Added on June 27, 2011, 11:12 amHi everyone!

I have a question.. I'm going to exchange money tomorrow, planning to change all my money into korean won but when i read the latest posts its better to change a bit of money to USD first, then change to won when you get there.. The exchange rate in airports is high so if i change to USD, where is the nearest place i shud change to won in Korea?

Whats the best way? Currently the currency exchange shops are selling won for rm2.98=1000won.. The cheapest I could get is rm2.9.. That's in KLCC n Giant Shah Alam. Forgot whats the rate in Sunway Pyramid..

Help sifus~ ^-^
*
Dear, you should try at Jalan TAR, Masjid Jamek etc since they give you better rate.. around rm 2.85. I know this
is not the best rate but looking at the current market, this should be good enough~ =)

As for rice, you don't need to bring rice cooker.
In the convenience store, there is rice sold on little cute boxes. Rice is pre-cooked. Just heat up in the microwave there. Also they have Nong Shim noodles everywhere. Bakeries. Kimchi in little sealed bag (1000 Won only). You won't die of hunger. It's not NK. It's SK!

A good food to try is kimbap. Also sold in convenience store for you/ but best is if you can head to the kimbap shop, called "Kimbap Nara" and Kimbap Chiggae.
Owh, is that so? i thought we should go to the kedai makan to buy the rice..hehe~ so it's convenient then...
i wanna buy that kimchi as well! smile.gif

Malaysia is hot and humid but 4 seasons countries tends to be hot and dry..
in certain countries it can get up to 40 degrees or more..

is that so? hmm..should bring more sunblock then... smile.gif

QUOTE(divasweet_77 @ Jul 16 2011, 12:50 AM)
Namdaemun market would be the best..
there's a few of building that sell brooches and accessories..
Myeondong night market also got some good selection..
I used to buy my dragonfly brooches in Myeondong..
but Namdaemun still the cheapest..
bear in mind Namdaemun is a wholesale shops
so, not all shops allow you to buy few pieces
*
i see... i will go to Namdaemun then...from your reply it sounds like Mydin. hehehe~
Thank you very much for the info ya~ icon_rolleyes.gif

Reporting from Seoul;

Airasia got delayed for 1/2 hr yesterday, by the time I reached Incheon; collect baggage etc the last bus has left.

So for those catching the bus; just do a time check.

aigoo, is that so? that's what i am worrying now... hopefully it wont during our turn next week...
but maybe it's all depend on the weather maybe...hmm~

Argh, so gonna plan a trip to Korea once Air Asia have cheap promos! The bibimbap looks super awesome!
*
Yeah..you should go 1 day! hehe~~~

i went to Seoul with a friend from 19th July - 26th July..it was a wonderful experience indeed.. rclxms.gif but we missed several
places due to time constraint. Believe me..even tho my trip was like a 6+a half-day-trip (minus the flight), it's really not
enough! hahaha~ i didnt get the chance to visit Bukchon, palaces & Namsan tower (Nami Island & Everland were not in
our last list)... sad.gif too bad. But still that was the memorable trip ever in my life. Just like few people here have said that
you will meet with either too kind of people or vice versa. But for me all of Korean people are nice..except for their
this one attitude that will staring-so-intently towards you like you are an alien or something..LOL..even kids were the
same..maybe bcoz me & my friend were wearing tudung. So, it's kinda weird to them.. blush.gif there was even this one
ahjumma sitting next to me on the train one day. She was like "bla...bla..bla..yeppeu da.." Me: ehhh??? err...kamsahamnida. I dunno the rest of the words but only know yeppeu.. did she praising me? kkkk~~ then she was like sentuh2 my tudung, talked in korean again..finally i gave-up and saying "sorry, i dont urderstand.. biggrin.gif " Maybe
she was asking why i wear the hijab...kkkk~

And of course besides all the beautiful+amazing places that i hv visited (Edae/Hongdae/Itaewon/KBS - Sukira/Mnet/WorldCup Std/Myeongdong/Dongdaemun/Namdaemun/Han River & Cruise/63 Building/Insadong/Lotte World/Paju
English Village/Korea University/Chonggyecheon Stream/Gwanghwamun Plaza/YG Ent/SM Ent
) the hightlight of this trip
that i wont ever forget are when i got the chance of meeting up with Danny Ahn & Hwayobi plus visiting Suju Yesung's
parents new cafe; Handel & Gretel on their very first opening! i was informed that Yesung came at the nite..too bad since
we're already at the airport for going back that time..huhu..but still i got the chance to have a lil chat with his younger
brother & taking pic with his father! hahaha~~ a typical fangirl~~ thumbup.gif

Without doubt i will go there again maybe sometime next year after my Bandung trip..hahaha~ sounds like i am a
very Kaya-girl...LOL~~~

Well, for me it's a fangirling trip.. so you can skip YG / SM if you dont want...

And if you like outdoor activity you shouldn't miss the bicycle ride along the Han River! so much fun!
I rented a bicycle at one of the park there (Magwon Han River Park). The fee for 1 hour is only 3000won.
So cheap..they'll ask for ur id. it really worth your money & time bcoz the view is so pretty with blooming flowers
everywhere esp sunflowers.. thumbup.gif Haha, i even lost count of how far i was pedaling until my friend said
the total was 11km... blink.gif

Sorry for the late reply... as far as i concern not all park has the bike rental stall...you can check it on their tourism
website.. and you must return it to the same stall since u need to get ur id back.. smile.gif
