Thanks. no problem to go around on your own in korea. just read this thread and you'll know how to do it.i always like to do iy myself. if u see something nice, can stay longer. if not nice, can skip straight away. u can't do this if follow tour. |

I think a lot of countries is doing that now. This is normally done at the immigration counter, where they have a scanner to scan the fingerprints and a webcam to take your picture. Then only they will stamp your passport.
It will take only a minute extra than the normal procedures. So just smile to the webcam |

QUOTE(milt @ Oct 10 2011, 11:28 PM) is it wise to choose airasia to fly to seoul? feel kind of scary after i hav read on the previous posts that there was a 10-hour delay. can anyone share their experience flying to korea on airasia? Our flight was delayed for 1 hour and this caused us a problem. We were left at the middle of no where as the MRT was the last train of the day and it stop at halfway before my destination.Luckily met a group of friendly young guys who speak english. They managed to help us to get a taxi, and luckily we rented a local phone at the airport, so can call the motel to give direction to the taxi driver. And their taxi fee is actually not expensive, I think we paid about RM60 for the midnight rate, around 30 minutes ride. But at the end, it's still the cheapest way to go to Seoul, and I would fly with them again. The extra money saved can then be used for shopping |

QUOTE(Balanar @ Nov 12 2011, 03:30 AM) So the last time for me to go to Seoul downtown is 11.21pm? Just be prepared to take taxi if the flight is delayed. You should print out the name and address of the hotel (in Korean if possible) as some of the taxi drivers can't speak English. Also, how do I book a day tour to Mount Sorak? |

QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 14 2011, 10:59 AM) When I was there last Dec, AREX train stopped at Gimpo Airport. and I missed the last MRT to Seoul. The taxi rate is not cheap & just like in KL, bcos they know well I missed the MRT, they reluctant to use meter. Hv to negotiate wth my limited Korean.. to 40,000 won or RM120 for a mere 25km to Seoul from Gimpo airport..darm.. Haha... simliar experience here last year. We still managed to catch the MRT but it stopped halfway before our planned stop. Luckily met a few young Koreans outside the station which they managed to flag a taxi for us, using meter. Paid around RM60 for midnight rate.I think for your case it's more expensive coz it's from the airport and that's the place to 'cut throat' |
