Btw, T-money can be used for Busan buses. Not train though. It's more worthwhile to buy a 1 day pass for KRW 3500. Travel as many times u want in a day.

Gonna share my trip in Korea after exactly 1 month since I touched down at Incheon International Airport.
Now my Day 1 and Day 2 are after Day 9. Trying to write what I managed to recall. Day 3 Visited National Museum of Korea. Really really big. Spent about 3 hours inside. Had lunch there at their food court. Nice and cheap food as well. A large variety. ![]() Headed to Insadong. Bought these very nice snacks, made with honey. 5k won for 10 pieces. My parents had fun buying souvenirs there. Nice souvenirs ranging from 1k to 3k won. ![]() ![]() ![]() Headed back to Cheongyangni Station. Found this very nice Grandma stall which sells very delicious Korean Satays and Odeng. ![]() Went to Lotte Mart opposite Grandma Stall for some groceries and Lotte products shopping. Had dinner at their food court there. Quite a good meal compared to food courts in Malaysia. ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Seng007: Mar 22 2011, 10:42 AM |

Day 4
Headed to Everland at Suwon. Boarded bus at Gangnam Station. The journey took less than 1 hour and cost less than 2,000 won. Had lunch there, stayed until about 7pm and headed back to Gangnam Station for dinner. Happened to find a very very good restaurant there by chance. Serves very very tasty and delicious spicy sauce Takgalbi + fried rice. Total cost less than 8,000 won per person. Had a very very full meal. Totally recommended! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Seng007: Mar 22 2011, 10:15 AM |

Checked out from Flower Hotel. Moved to Grape Garden House at Hongik. Checked in Grape Garden House. Headed towards Namdaemun area and had bowls of Handmade noodles. Quite warm and good considering having a bowl of hot noodles in such a cold weather. Walked from Namdaemun Market to Myeongdong for shopping. Girls definitely shopped a lot! Lots of cosmetics and clothings. Crowded as usual. ![]() ![]() ![]() Headed back to Hongik area to have Hongdae Chigae, BBQ Pork + Kimbap. Cost less than 7,000 won per person for all. Day 6
After having a good rest, headed to Gyeongbukgong Palace. There's also a Folkore Museum just beside Gyeongbukgong. Entrance is free. Had lunch at Gwanghwamun Square area. Lunch which I will never ever forget. The spiciest noodles I've ever had in my entire life. I had a very tough time eating it but it's still tasty nevertheless. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Headed to The story of Sejong Exhibition gallery + General Yi Sun Sin Gallery. Happened to catch a series of Korean traditional instrument performances there. ![]() Headed towards Myeongdong for additional shopping and then to Namsan Park + Seoul Tower + Teddy Bear Museum after that. Took cable car up to Seoul Tower in the evening. Took some photos and headed back to Hongik area to have some Korean fried rice. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Day 7
Checked out from Grape Garden House and stored our luggages there. Took KTX train to Busan, the journey took about 3 hours. Lodging at Busan Inn Motel. Nice location, just beside Busan KTX Station. Clean and big rooms with TV and Computer. ![]() Had lunch at some restaurants just beside the motel. It's called Pork Gupbap. After a satisfying meal, we bought ourselves a 1-day pass for subway whcih costs 3,500 won and headed to Horshimchung Spa. We stayed there for about 3-4 hours and had our dinner there. We had Kamjatang, which is a kind of korean pork rib soup + potatoes. Nice meal. Due to bad weather (keep raining at Busan), we cancelled our plan to Pusan National University night market and headed back to Motel for an early rest. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Day 8
Headed to Beomeosa, a 1300 year-old temple. Nostalgic. Nice sceneries. We stayed for the entire morning there and had lunch somewhere down the hill. Samgyetang, I didn't like the dish previously but that one was rather good. ![]() ![]() ![]() After that we headed for a walk at Haeundae beach and then to Busan Aquarium. The biggest aquarium in South Korea. At night, we headed to Jagalchi fish market for dinner. Battery was flat back then and didn't manage to capture sashimi + seafood we had there inside a building. ![]() Day 9 Headed back to Seoul by KTX. Had our lunch at Hongik Area. This time round, Kamjatang again. It's highly recommended in blogs. ![]() After that we headed down to Dongdaemun shopping area and did some last minute shopping before we headed to Airport for our 11pm flight ![]() |

QUOTE(smallp0tat0 @ Mar 22 2011, 11:10 AM) Hi Seng007 Not too bad, I've pulled my luggages all the way from subway station to Flower Hotel on our very first night there. I would say about 10 minutes walk from the subway. Can i ask if it is easy for someone who pull big luggage to walk to Flower Hotel from subway station? I'm planning to stay there on my last night in Seoul. how is the food prices like in Everland? i dunno how much i should budget for food inside Everland. For food in Everland, the food are available usually for less than 10k won. Don't be too worry about it. |

That's why I save a bit of time for T-money buying. I suppose u can get it at any convenience store at Incheon airport for 3,000 won. Added on March 22, 2011, 10:18 pmOh, forgot to update about my expenses. Our personal expenses was about RM 1.8k for everything including flight, food, accmodation and transport. Spent less than we thought. Had tons of Korean Won left. This post has been edited by Seng007: Mar 22 2011, 10:18 PM |

QUOTE(OMG! @ Mar 23 2011, 10:55 PM) Hello all, i will be undergoing my cultural exchange in Pukyong university Bushan this coming June. WOuld like to know, how much the fees for flight tickets needed to and fro from KL to Seoul? any ideas whether a bus transport available for which i can take from Seoul to reach Bushan? The fastest way to travel to busan upon arrival would be from Incheon Airport (AREX) -> Seoul Station (KTX) -> Busan. Total journey would be about 4.5 hours. Cost of Arex = 3,700 won, Cost of KTX to busan would be roughly around 45k to 50k won.How much the fees? Well, i have been sponsored RM3k which i think is mean for fight tickets and meals, while dormitory is fully provided and free of charge, just wanted to know whether would it be suffice for 1 month staying over there? any help is much appreciated=) It really depends how much is ur flight. RM 3k for expenses of 1 month would definitely be more than enough. |

QUOTE(OMG! @ Mar 23 2011, 11:39 PM) thanks for the info, guys!~ RM 1k for meals is a bit tight for 1 month. Though, possible.well, i got to bear in mind that the 3 k after reduction in air fares( i guess to and from would cost me around 2k right?), only left 1k for meals, do you think is enough to survive in Bushan? according to the brochure given, stated there is US 350 for meals for the whole 1 month, so is that possible? that mean From Seoul to Bushan ,along the way i need RM 300 for 2 ways trip. i guess the bus transportation for visiting places of interest is relatively cheap right? got to plan my journey now, as i will have to prepare a budget for my 1 month trip there .Ohya, how is the season of Korea around June? Imagine u eat in school, average of 3,000 won per meal. 3 meals per day, 9,000 won. 30 days 270k won, which is still less than RM 1k. However, u have to consider that sometimes u will have ur meals outside of school when u are travelling. U also have to factor in ur transport. I would say, RM 2k for ur expenses for 1 month should be sufficient with minimal shopping. Try to save on air fare if possible. Airasia flight isn't that bad after all. I've taken MAS business class to Korea before. Weather would be like Malaysia, summer. May be slightly colder. |

QUOTE(OMG! @ Mar 24 2011, 12:16 AM) @ Mr Seng, Yes, I've been there twice. Love it there. Less crowded as compard to Seoul. Things are slightly cheaper too! As for transport, there's this 1 day pass where u can purchase at 3,500 won where u can travel for whole day unlimited. So if u only travel during weekends, that would be just good. Busan alone doesn't have much of an attraction, if u would like to tour around I would suggest Gyeongju and Jeju Island. Love them. i see, well, i think mostly i got to be saved for my 1 month trip and yes i shall consider too the transport fees and shopping, eating out, buying souveniers etc...that alone would cost me roughly more than that. i have searched through the Air Asia website, the fees for the flight tickets two ways , would probably cost me RM1300, ( if i am gonna go for Regular Seat). have you been to Bushan before? Added on March 24, 2011, 1:15 amOh ya, if u wanna save money from Seoul -> Busan. Feel free to take the shuttle bus. It saves u a lot of money but costs u twice as much time. QUOTE(sfwong1 @ Mar 24 2011, 04:47 PM) Not really la. Twice as much time as from Seoul to Busan. KTX takes less than 3 hours while coach can take up to 6 hours. 9 hours is a lot? I used to take coaches from Singapore to Penang once in every month. Sometimes could go up to 12 hours. Now, that's insane man. |

QUOTE(OMG! @ Mar 24 2011, 06:14 PM) Yes n i did heard before stuffs thereare slightly cheaper, well, i guess travelling to Seoul city from Bushan wont cause much a hectic right? Ok, let's see.6 Hours ride is slightly more than the journey i took from Penang to KL. One more thing is that, RM1500 is more than enough for basic 3 meals per day in Bushan for a month there right? Well, i also did consider about the risk of radiation at South Korea since it is quite near to its neighbouring country Japan. How much does it concern you? Breakfast - Kimbap/Choco pie/Or some Lotte Snacks - 1,000 won /day Meal at School - 3,500 won/day Dinner at School - 3,500 won/day Supper - 1,000 won/day Total per day 9,000 won/day Total per month = 270,000 won/day. Sometimes u might eat outside, say, 2/7 days u eat outside, 4 meals per week, 16 meals per month. 1 meal 6,500 won, total (6,500 -3,500)*16 won = 48,000 won extra. Total = 318,000 won for 1 month's meal with outside meals factored in. Conversion rate of roughly 1 MYR = 370 KRW. 318,000 won = RM 860. For the wind, the radiation particles were at Europe now. As of today, South Korea is unaffected by the radiation. Shall there be a change in wind, the particles get diluted through the pacific. I would safely say, South Korea by then, would totally be unaffected. I could be wrong though. |
