Hey guys, I got a weird problem. I recently got the LG 42LD650 and when playing video files, I realize the background music - especially piano and strings of movies are a little out of tune - kinda like old VCR cassettes tapes. I've tried through two USB harddisks and same results.
Any idea what to do about this?

Maybe the HDTV has setting for treble/ bass or stuff...but basically, you need better speakers other than the puny ones to get some decent music...it will set you back from a few hundred to thousand depending on your personal taste and budget.
As for the out of tune..I'm pretty sure that there are no mechanical system (like the old days of cassette etc) that will create this problem...is it out of tune or robotic/breaking up sound?

The out of tunes sounds exactly like those old cassette tapes. Sounds don't break up, just more like it's speeding up and slowing down and causing the tone to change

Yeah maybe the prospect of direct USB playing through TV is not so cool after all....
I'll probably go get one of those media players - any good suggestions? Really don't know where to start? And a good 2 / 3.1 system as well. My small condo probably wouldn't need a 5.1 would it? 1k sq feet
