Dang! I love my 50mm f/1.8D (some may say it's a cheap plastic), but to me it's my best buddy. If only I can go wide-open, but all the time I can only go for f/2.8 for the sharpness. f/1.8 is too soft to my liking =.=
Having one extra stop is just awesome. Nevermind. I'm funding for N lens. This post has been edited by geekster129: Mar 15 2011, 04:23 PM |

QUOTE(Irfan2397 @ Mar 15 2011, 04:57 PM) Now its modern ages ,you must accept the facts LOL yea... that reminds me of my high school senior who bought himself a Nikon FM2 and lens, which is not a cheap hobby back then in 1999! He's one of the small groups who are playing with photography. Nowadays, people play photography like playing PC or gadgets... To the point that people thought that buying lens is like upgrade RAM or processor This post has been edited by geekster129: Mar 15 2011, 05:02 PM |

QUOTE(Irfan2397 @ Mar 15 2011, 05:03 PM) I thinks its no fair to say kids rich if you have a tech stuff OKOK... let's not debate further whether it's fair or not fair for any individuals who can own gadgets. Let's assume everyone of us here have the same interest on talking about gears regardless of their income. Poor or rich people all can chat happily. Even if there's a bazooka gold plated lens that we can never afford or some of us can afford, we just chat about it. This post has been edited by geekster129: Mar 15 2011, 05:10 PM |

QUOTE(ifer @ Mar 15 2011, 05:27 PM) yeah. so i sometimes find it amusing that people can say things like 'oh this photo is not sharp' without learning / understanding on how to read a photo Well I heard a saying from one lecture I have attended. If 4-5 of your pics are blur, then it's a fault. If 40% of your pics are blur, then it's an experiment If 100% of your pics are blur, then it's YOUR STYLE That fella could be a bokeh freak who just love photographing OOF lights at large apertures. QUOTE(xk2 @ Mar 15 2011, 06:11 PM) eventhough some of those ppl are not clear on what they are using, but they might able to generate picture that far better than those who always talk gear and technical thing lol.. who cares about how much gears you own and how good your "talking skills" are. If you missed the kiss scene in wedding just because you are indecisive whether to go bokeh, high ISO or low ISO, what SS, what aperture, what lens to use, sRGB or Adobe RGB... what's the point? As long as the settings just work and you got the moment captured, that is what matters more. you got your point there comradez. While it's a no brainer that anyone can take a camera and point it, get the right setting and press the shutter, the rest of the activity requires a person to carefully observe and plan meticulously in order to make the audience go WOW! 80% of the time is not about the camera but how you wanted to execute the shot. As many experienced photographers always say, it is the pre visualization in your brain even before you see in the viewfinder or liveview lcd

Perhaps now is a time where we slow down on pro camera gears while many Japanese now are out of food supplies, electricity and many other basic amenities. Let's pray hard that Japan will recover soon and I'm now funding to own myself my first Made In Japan Nikon item.

I've always been curious on how you guys justify ISO performance?
1. Go for 100% crop 2. Pixel peeping? 3. How about print? |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Mar 17 2011, 12:42 PM) have to wait my saving "fully charged" in september if the plan going well As you start to shoot, you will ask even more questions. That's the fact. So, be daring to experiment because you will never know what kind of new challenges you will face in order to meanwhile make clear the questions cloud if i got while reading this "technical stuff" here... like those "new technologies" after D70s model that i never heard before but almost clear what i want, not need haha. improve your photography. Good luck! |
