to repay his kindnees to let me own a DSLR and poisoning me to enter the side  brows.gif ,cause before this my target is Canon 1000D

The best repay should be NOT TO DISTURB AND BLOCK THE APPOINTED PHOTOGRAPHERS in taking all the moments !
You have no experience at all. Can you assure that you won't block them when they're working on to snap the moments ?

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Mar 15 2011, 12:15 AM)
Anyone has experience with Sigma 30mm f1.4? Might look for that instead of the Nikkor 35mm f2 hmm.gif

You think those appointed photographers won't be able to find a better angle than yours on that day itself? Don't underestimate these wedding photographers whistling.gif

Just to note that the 12-24 (I assume from Nikon) is a DX lens.
Thanks for the honest insight.
That's correct. On a Canon body, you always have to use a f/2.8 to be able to use the other AF points as it will be automatically disabled. Once your lens is f/4 or f/5.6, than only the centre point AF works if I'm not wrong. No such thing with the Nikon.
If the differences are just at 100% zoom, I think you should not get too worried. Get a lens that works for your photography. Specs is one thing but what's the point of having the best lens when it does not suite and complement your style of shooting? Don't worry too much. The 35mm f/2 is a legendary lens in it's own right.
Looks like you're enjoying the 35mm f/1.4 more than the 24mm f/1.4?
Looks to me like the focus is slightly to the back part of the hair. Is that correct?

My 24/1.4G haven't come back.

And yes. The focus was on hair sweat.gif

It is. But need to wait shipment from KL as I residing in Penang.
And most Nikon peeps clearing their leave. Not to forget, some of them preparing for upcoming 10th anniversary event.

Spotlight was directly towards the camera. N really makes wonder.
35/1.4G without ED tho. If only 24/1.4G with me. Can try out and see the different.

I use 70200 for portrait. Used to own 85/1.8 (2 of it) but sold off due to lousiness of the lens.

Yes. 50mm quite tight. 35 is good. Get the 1.4G if you can afford. It's superb !

For me lor. Everyone has their one opinion right? It's only sharp at f/2.8. I haven't tried many other lenses tho  smile.gif
Wow 35 more expensive than the 85, thought it's cheaper  sweat.gif
*
yes, sharp on f/2.8 *i find it a little soft still*

QUOTE(geekster129 @ Mar 15 2011, 04:05 PM)
How many lenses are sharp at f/1.4? 85G only?
*
All the N wink.gif

QUOTE(celciuz @ Mar 15 2011, 04:08 PM)
24mm if the AF is spot on, 35 should be the same too. Only the 50mm is not good at f/1.4 heck even the older 50mm f/1.2 AiS does better wide open! I saw a comparison done by a forummer in PM with a 50mm f/1.2 AiS versus the 50mm f/1.4D. Wide open, the f/1.2 wins! Pretty surprised to see an old lens beating up the newer one.

That 1.2 ais is a beast notworthy.gif
