hi kevin can you advise us owners of roomba and scooba what are the proper methods to recharge the battery of roomba n scooba after each cycle of cleaning ?
do we continue to leave it plugged in to charge even when the light has turned solid green, until the next clean in 1-2 days time?
i searched online and find very confusing advice and many different advices to charge the battery. thank u kevin

Hi, Sylvia

For normal roomba recharged battery even the solid green you may keep the light on for 24 hours x 7 days, cause the roomba have set in time & schedule and the schedule for time will be runing the battery until battery weak, if you does not fully charger on 24 hrs for standby mode.

So I will prefer on roomba may need charged on 24 hrs non-stop to be keep the battery longer life's.
If you never charged this for one month and the battery leak until empty, cause the roomba will runing the time schedule.

For Scooba After full charged until solid green then can be used up to 2 cycle per jobs, until 2nd cycle the Scooba battery is flat then the Scooba will signal you the switch off and take out the battery and put to changing base for charged until solid green and use for next day.

If your Scooba dose not come with charging base just unplug the charger when the battery full and show on solid green.

Thank you.

Thanks kevin. for roomba you have a good point. like what the manual or irobot website recommends us to do.

but for scooba, quite confusing, irobot manual and website advise owner to run 1 full cleaning cycle (about 45 minutes to 1 hour) and
after that, even if battery is still available, owners should charge back the battery before using the next cycle.
irobot discourage you to run more than 1 full cleaning cycle on 1 battery charge because over the long run, it will diminish the battery's
ability.

if this is true and we have to follow this, it will be very troublesome , right ? 1 cleaning cycle can only cover the living room or dining hall for our semi-d.
so we have to buy a 2nd battery if want to run continuously 2-3 times straight.

what is your opinion ?

Ok due to Scooba battery if you bought the dark blue color is a ASP battery, once full charged can be cover up to 2 cycle per charged.
After 2 cycle mopping jobs done and may have do a recharge again for next time when need for using again.

If you battery color is a light blue non ASP battery the battery life only can cover 1 cycle per full charged, after done the job a around 45mins then should need to used charger for plug in Scooba by manually to charging until solid green and ready for used in next cycle.

My brand new all stocks is come with dark blue ASP battery so the mopping jobs can be cover into 2 cycle per full charged and one cycle should have running 45mins to cover 3 rooms + living & dinner room should be take around 45mins running, after complete still have another one cycle can be use in kitchen or toilet area smile.gif

Thanks

ya i understand what you are saying.

BUt irobot is recommending scooba owner not to use the scooba for more than 1 full cleaning cycle.
I understand that after 1 full cleaning cycle , the scooba battery still has lot of juice to continue for 1 more cycle, but due
to warning by irobot website, i dare not use for 2 cycles.
