DXJH1:
• Stable official version (before DXJK1)
• Has added “bonus” (if you know what I mean)
• Good default web browser (can toggle full screen/normal screen)
• Has “Not enough resources” issue
• Keyboard doesn’t support multi-touch, which to me makes it hard to type fast
DXJK1:
• Same as DXJH1 except that no more “bonus”
DXJL3:
• Asian bada 1.2 (not in Malaysia yet, but can flash using multiloader)
• No more “bonus”
• Bad default web browser (the address bar keeps appearing each time u touch the screen, which disturbs your browsing experience)
• Less “Not enough resources” issue, but it’s still there
• Overall faster (games like Asphalt & Bruce Lee seemed to run faster)
• Can install apps that require bada 1.2 (eg: EasyVNC)
• Keyboard has multi-touch support
• T9 Trace
XXJID:
• First unofficial leaked bada 1.2
• Good default web browser (this firmware has the best browser IMO for all bada 1.2 firmwares, because can toggle full screen/normal screen)
• “bonus”
• Less “Not enough resources” issue (but it’s still there)
• Some games I installed like TwinBlades, when launching will have momentary “screen tear”, hard to explain…but it goes away.
• Multi-touch keyboard and T9 Trace
XXJJ9:
• Improved version of XXJID
• Better memory, less “not enough resources” issue
• Games and apps won’t have the “screen tear” I mentioned in XXJID
• “bonus”
• Worst thing is – BAD default browser! The same issue with DXJL3 browser
XXJL2:
• Official bada 1.2 for euro firmwares
• Same like DXJL3 (improved memory, multi-touch keyboard, bad browser)
• Somehow seems faster compared to DXJL3
• No “bonus”
From DX firmwares, once I flashed to XX firmwares I can no longer go back to DX firmware unless I go to service center. Anyway, I originally wanted to stick with XXJID because of the browser, multi-touch keyboard and “bonus”. Unfortunately the memory problems and screen tear made me decide to stick with XXJJ9 finally. It’s more stable, I don’t see much changes between XXJJ9 and XXJL2. And XXJJ9 has “bonus” so, that’s the one I stick with
When flashing, I decided to try flashing XXJJ9 firmware but using DXJL3’s CSC file (the configuration files for our region) and it works! I can get Asian languages and also the Maxis/Digi/Celcom configurations installed. Also, Social Hub Premium works regardless which CSC file we use, because it’s tied to our sim card (if we use Digi/Celcom/Maxis or any operator that has activated social hub premium on their network, it will work fine).
Anyway, right now my only gripe with XXJJ9 is the web browser. I use opera mini as a workaround, but if someone manage to port XXJID or DXJH1 web browser to XXJJ9 that would be great! Of course it would be better if Opera/Firefox decided to develop their web browser for bada platform
