Samsung Malaysia is very slow in releasing firmware update... so not be too optimistic...hopefully next year we can taste it....

My ex-phone is a Wave S8500 so I know what Bada is all about. Don't expect any OS upgrades for the next 1.5 years. Even basic bugs will not be fixed.Galaxy Y cheap plastic and LCD screen only.... But the samsung apps is very suck coz all my paid apps cant install to my phone....need to buy again and less apps support.... The bada appstore is just stagnant. Samsung probably paid some developers to develop some Bada 2.0 apps but that's all you are going to get. Practically all the developers have deserted bada. As for bada itself it is just a poor man's copy of Android. May as well get the real thing. This post has been edited by Ginny88: Dec 26 2011, 07:11 PM |

Don't expect any OS upgrades for the next 1.5 years. Even basic bugs will not be fixed. Well, i wouldn't say BADA is a poor's man copy of Android...actually, in many ways it is superior!!!The bada appstore is just stagnant. Samsung probably paid some developers to develop some Bada 2.0 apps but that's all you are going to get. Practically all the developers have deserted bada. As for bada itself it is just a poor man's copy of Android. May as well get the real thing. 1) No internal/external partition shit to install apps. Apps can be install on cards as you like. No need to move your apps (or worst, can't move) due to the Android internal storage issue. 2) UI is actually smoother than Android...even Wave 2 compared to my SGS2...the UI in BADA is consistently smoother...and the rotation and scaling of the landscape is much cooler and smoother in BADA. Amdroid is actually not such a great OS...it carries a few critical issues with the storage and rendering (causing UI lag even on the most powerful hardware)...it is the support given to Android which is it's main winning point...etc free open OS. The BADA actually makes a great feature phone...but without the apps support, it still nearly can't be categorized as a true smartphone. It'll still have a market, but i think the price needs to come down significantly....maybe in sub RM700 region for the top phones...otherwise, not many people will opt for it...and thus will die a quick death... Seriously, BADA is a better OS than other propriatery OS like Symbian...even Android in terms of performance. This post has been edited by Matrix: Jan 1 2012, 09:45 AM |
