Hi,

I plan to get a budget 40" LCD TV this weekend. Now in my mind that narrow down to 2 models;

Samsung LA40C530 - Everything seems presentable... Got Video playback via USB. The only downside does not support RMVB file

Sharp LC-40L550M - It support the RMVB file. It is good to have due to HK TVB Series... But the design not as good as Samsung.

I cannot compare both of them side by side as both of this are in different shop... As normal see-see, it seems the Samsung might has better color... Both has 2 years warranty.

I am not really experince on this... Thus do seek your advises... Personally I think TV can play back video format is good because simple in operation...

Do comments ya...

both are good HDTVs.....trust me...just go for eyes...which u felt wow factor..then go buy that model.....both are good brands....if go for samsung...i advise u better take longer warranty...3-5 yrs...cuz samsung tend to give problems after 2 yrs....or depend on ur luck....

Hard to judge as they are not side by side and playing different movies + different setting... Both are more than acceptable of course...

The major differences that I observe are;
(1) Sharp can play RMVB, which is great for TVB series
(2) Samsung more handsome

Samsung really that bad over time? Serious? Any case study?

i bought myself the sharp 40l500 and took the difference to buy a dedicated media player

I planning to delay the media player by at least 6 months la... Need to let waller recover its blood first ma... sweat.gif

Thus I need the video playback capability...

Btw, any advise on bigger 42" around RM2000 without video playback? I actually have a rarely used netbook... Maybe can act as media player...

i got samsung LCD monitor for my PC...after 2 yrs cant switch on..only black screen showed....lucky i got 3 yrs warranty...so i go to samsung plaza near federal highway...same row as mazda, chevy, avon showrooms...they changed a part...which cost RM300++...then till today running fine....just imagine without warranty u got to fork out such amount of money....and at the same time i saw many customers with their samsung products..ranges from TVs, printers, digital cameras, handphones, home theather systems...so i thought my self wow so many issues on this brand...might moved away from this brand for future buyings...on any samasung products....thats why i feared them...although samsung are leader in HDTVs....so i suggst u if u really like samsung no problem...but make sure get longer warranty...at least 3 yrs above.....not only for samsung both other brands too....cuz these days all branded stuffs are MADE IN MY...not like those days imported from japan and so on....my old national TV lasted for 20 yrs...how impressive is it..but todays HDTVs or any products as a whole..we cant guaranteed that...due to made in MY....nothing is perfect in this world...even imported stuffs does go faulty...so its on depends on luck factor too.....just my small advice.. smile.gif
