Gps work better with frequent use. Beside several apps on the market, foursquare also known to increase lock rate.

as far as i know, there's no exact RUU for our SiS set.
so, our backup is the most recommended.

my guess its a file of cache data, if you run out of memory, then can clear dalvik cache first.
when reboot, it will recreate.
its more or less like prefetch on windows. speed up the system but if too large, going to lag the phone.

you can download apk file to pc and later transfer to your DHD,
just beware of your source, seem there're many ambiguous apps either pirate or even from the market.

should mention FP too....
good for general understanding,

beside market, my other source of apk is xda itself.
several apk is just of root/mod user.

i'm using widgetsoid but don't use data toggle mode, so never touch data related setting.
i like my data always on

since you're halfway on root,
why don't just perm root, use other ROM... problem solve

the backup is always there on your sd as long as you not manually delete it.
you can has several backup rom; different date.

as a learning from wildfire, i thought we must never update through official OTA,
since we might had the update earlier through our dev on xda

use app like mybackup root or titanium backup,
its on FP

before this i got a g-sensor problem,
flash with IO performance, the its fix already.
alternatively, flash with latest kernel 2.2.4 should fix the problem too.

since you already root, why don't try alternative of battery calibaration; delete the batterystat.bin
supposely, root user don't need a hassle to charge for quite a long time.

if still got problem, i had a backup apk from for earlier version!

i'm sure all that still use a data plan, since its a mobile phone gps!
