your tv only have 1 HDMI IN? if you have 2 or 3, try the other HDMI IN.
mine only works with 1 HDMI IN, the other 2 HDMI IN face the same issue as yours,
mostly it flicker few times, then blank.

my tv got 3 hdmi in, one is use for my pc n its ok.

i have tried a different HDMI cable also nothing is coming out.

i think its a handshake issue btw hdmi devices....  hmm.gif
*
i reading over the web about the handshaking issue

i tired doing this connect both the HDMI and composite from the PS3 to the tv

i'll do a soft reset

i'll switch to channel the composite is on and its says HDMI detected do you like to use video and audio output from HDMI.

i press ok and switch the channel the HDMI is on. its still blank.

iam not sure what the problem is. is it coming from the PS3 or TV.

cause i connect my pc to tv via HDMI n it works fine.

Press and hold ur Turn off power button on ur PS3 if it doesnt work then try connecting VGA Cable to ur TV and connect ur HDMI cable after starting the PS3 with VGA Cable and getting SD display after that Plug in HDMI cable and go to video setting and select input to HDMI and select 720p first and check if it works or not...

@_@ I'm not making sense but try doing it  whistling.gif

theres no select 720p, its select HDMI yes or no thats about it.

n yes i've tried what u suggested by using vga cable first, its still nothing

HDMI port at PS3 kapuut??  hmm.gif

something really weird, like what tashfinsheikh said, i did that way using VGA cable n HDMI cable when i switch on my PS3 to AV channel it says HDMI detected so it gives me the option to use it, i select ok and switch the channel to my HDMI n its still blank.

Ur TV is  1,366 x 768 (16:9) (It's not Full-HD and PS3 automatically configures it to 1080p)...

because when i select 1080i and 1080p my tv is able to display picture, except for the fact when i switch on my PS3 again i get a blank screen n when i tired everything nothing happens.

Any cheap hdmi cable that you can buy in tesco will work with ps3. Unless you have 3D tv, then you need 1.4 cable.

will buying an expensive HDMI cable make any difference
