guys i have a problem.

lately my ps3 been shutting down, when i check 'game data', i suspect it was the hdd, so i did full format and it worked for awhile, but after 1 day same thing happen. this also happens when i load a game, b4 the game is load at all. means, i open a game, immediately shut down.

i took out the hdd and wipe/clean abit, and put it back in. now it works ok, but i'm pretty sure it will come back to haunt me soon. replacing the hdd seems like my only choice atm.

i can play games ok for now but i worried this might be related to ylod or more serious issues. i will buy a new hdd to replace this and see how it goes.

as for the ps3, its slim and bought last year feb 2010, same time as ff13 released

worse case scenario... buy new ps3 slim. and it will be the last console i buy this gen. currently on 2nd console...

my ps3 slim now need to 'warm up' before can do anything. leave idle for bout 1 hour then only can play.

lolz man. a sign of things to come backup savegame everyday for the game i play.

my slim bought last year february. around the time ff13 launch

and yes i am in aircond room.

one thing i noticed. if i leave the slim in standby mode, no need to warm up. if i unplug the ps3 or off the main power, then turn on a few hours later, then need to warm up, else it will shut down.

sucks to be me. but so far after warmed up i can play games no problems, up to 5-6 hours tested yesterday.

a definite maybe. but for now can still use. if more serious will bring to sony and see their repair cost quote.

if too exp might as well buy new ps3.

any idea when the new cech-3000b ps3 slim coming to malaysia? if soon then i should i wait for it to buy my new ps3? hmmm.

or satin silver model also can. hehe.

sounds like one of my ps3's symptoms b4 it gave up on me.

a word of advice, don't bother send to sony unless still under warranty.

feels good to be playing on console again.

no data transfer since my old slim cannot turn on anymore.

but i restore backup. sadly, only my saves were transferred. all game data, downloadable games have to re download.

it means the game has a patch. its not a must. but patching a game can usually mean bug fixing, so its a good thing.

if lazy patch, just cancel it. but you can't play online.

yes. if u don't patch u will auto signed out from psn.

can't seem to open 'my page' to register warranty. its damn slow.

for those who register ps3 warranty by phone, do they give you the 3 months extended warranty?

psn plus subscription will last for a month. if u activate it on the 4th of july, ur psn plus will last till 4th of august.

of course all will be playable. its as if u bought the game for real. even if u delete it, u can redownload it anytime like any game u bought.

the only exception is the games which are free for playstation plus. once playstation plus expires, you won't be able to access the game anymore.
