so, how can i transfer my data to my new ps3? or if kenot, at least i can transfer my PSN ID.. coz i read PSN ID shud be deactivate 1st then only can recover to new PS3..

For PSN ID, it can use at 5 different set of PS3. If you not deactivated your PSN ID at old PS3, you still can use your existing PSN ID at new PS3. If possible, better deactivate old PS3.

If you got backup file from your old PS3, then you can restore at new PS3. If don't have, no way you can transfer data since your old PS3 can't turn on.

You can get back your trophies as long as synced with sony server before old PS3 died.

You can re-download all PSN games without re-buy it as long as your PSN ID not a share account (share with other 5 people).

If got PSN games which bought from share account (example: from terion), you can't re-download it since you didn't deactivated old PS3.

no need to deactivate from old ps3 or wut? hmm.gif

Yes, don't need deactivated old PS3. But MUST synced with sony server first before your old PS3 died.
If never synced with sony server before, then can't get back all trophies.

trophies no need to deactivate. but for psn games need to deactivate. sorry for the confusion.

I think PSN games don't need to deactivate too unless the PSN games bought from share account.

Hey , bro , i bought a DS3 controller recently but its seem the ps3 cant detect the new controller , can u suggest a way to set it , thks. biggrin.gif

Before you use new DS3 with your PS3, you need pair DS3 with your PS3 first by using USB cable. After successfully pairing, PS3 able detect the "new DS3" automatically once you turn on PS3 next time.

Remark: PS3 might not recognize 3rd party DS3.

Im not sure is this the correct place to ask but below is my question

I played Final Fantasy XIII on my fren PS3 (name it PS3-fren) and now i have my own PS3 (name it PS3-self), how do i transfer my save file from 'PS3-fren' to 'PS3-self'. I tried to copy via USB and i start to play FFXIII, able to load but i'm unable to save the game at all and it says something like 'not allow to save game which loaded from other's ppl save file'. Please enlighten me.

I notice there is a way to do it via PSN online gamesave profile but i don't want to ask my fren to give me the profile details since its abit sensitive detail. other way to do it?

FFXIII's save file is not copy protected but it locked to PSN ID.

Let say you play FFXIII at PS3-A under PSN ID name as ABC, you can copy the FFXIII's save file to another PS3 (PS3-B) with 1 condition, You MUST use same PSN ID as PS3-A, that's means PSN ID is ABC. Then you can continue the game progress at PS3-B using save file from PS3-A.

This is to prevent someone exploit the trophy system.

If you not care about trophy, then you can continue the game at your PS3 by using your friend's PSN ID. [Ask your friend create his/her PSN ID (which you use play FFXIII) at your PS3]

If you want collect trophies under your PSN ID. Only way is start from scratch.

Guys, any of u experience this problem before, error during installation, it happened to me after i finished download Prince of Persia and install it, it will install and error pop up at 14% during installation...data corrupted....last nite i download but suddenly blackout i wonder if the blackout causes the data corrupt due to suddenly losing connection while downloading the files...background DL btw... hmm.gif

I encountered once last time, also around 10%+, then prompt error message. For my case, I accidentally switch off power supply without proper shut down PS3 during download process. When I turn on PS3, the download still continue without any problem and can reach 100%. But during installation, it prompt error message. Only solution is delete downloaded file and re-download it, then it can install properly.
