QUOTE(nwk @ Mar 22 2011, 02:30 PM) safe but also depend on your luck and what type of HDD you upgrade. Need to upgrade bro, my 160GB is filling up fast...hmm but then again the last time I tried opening my keyboard it went kaput so if you don't wanna push your luck, just stick to the stock HDD like me, unless you got nothing better to do. QUOTE(munzamir @ Mar 22 2011, 02:30 PM) upgrading PS3 HDD is totally safe.. don't worry.. Oh, lucky you had me frightened theremaybe it's my bad luck the damn HDD failed on my console.. and few pages back got user complaining about WD Scorpio Blue 500GB giving him problem.. the console can detect the HD, after few day it'll hang.. XMB so damn slow.. i change back to original 320HD it works fine.. thrown dat HD away ady.. So basically is just a bad batch of HDD failing lah Did you get replacement for the faulty HDD and ahh try in PS3 again This post has been edited by mingxhin: Mar 22 2011, 02:39 PM |

Yeah new PS3 Slim shouldn't overheat easily, don't place the PS3 in a enclosed area (like in TV cabinet) and I always cover my PS3 with "kain" when not playing so dust will not clog up the ventilation.
QUOTE(munzamir @ Mar 25 2011, 02:44 PM) not really.. as long ur PS3 in a well ventilated room, should be ok.. Dun let ur boss see this when KZ3 out dat time.. i took EL and played the MP 2 and a half day straight without shutting the console off.. not a problem at all.. those cooling fan craps lah.. |

To me 720p should be enough, most games still only support 720p. I can count 17 out of 24 games I have only support up to 720p. Besides when I play in either 720p or 1080p resolution, I cannot see any difference. This based on my 24' monitor. Bigger than that maybe you can see the difference.

Seems that certain CFW allowed hackers to access the PSN developer network and download PSN games for free as well as hack into other PSN user's account. All this started because pirates wanted to cheat in COD

In other news QUOTE Dear Valued Sony Online Entertainment Customer: Our ongoing investigation of illegal intrusions into Sony Online Entertainment systems has discovered that hackers may have obtained personal customer information from SOE systems. We are today advising you that the personal information you provided us in connection with your SOE account may have been stolen in a cyber-attack. Stolen information includes, to the extent you provided it to us, the following: name, address (city, state, zip, country), email address, gender, birthdate, phone number, login name and hashed password. Customers outside the United States should be advised that we further discovered evidence that information from an outdated database from 2007 containing approximately 12,700 non-US customer credit or debit card numbers and expiration dates (but not credit card security codes) and about 10,700 direct debit records listing bank account numbers of certain customers in Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Spain may have also been obtained. We will be notifying each of those customers promptly. |

QUOTE(alister88 @ May 8 2011, 10:12 PM) Hi all, 1) 160GB is more than enough unless you want to store lots of movies, trailers, game demos etc. Besides that, PS3 HDD can be swapped with any laptop HDD while for Xbox you need to buy Microsoft certified HDD only, and the price is very expensive compared to normal HDD.Im planning to get a console and I'm still surveying on Xbox and PS3. I did some survey on the Xbox thread and now on PS thread. My question here.. 1) how big is the saved files for one game usually? does 160GB enough to play many games? 2) how do you guys utilizes the HDD? Storing games, movies, mp3s? 3) Xbox games need to download online to console(correct me if im wrong) and how bout PS3? Do we download the games online to keep in the HDD as well, for faster loading? Sorry for asking these questions, cos I'm really outdated on consoles. My first and only console was the very first gen of PS1. After that, Im more to computer gamings so I really have no idea how console now days works. Hope someone can answer me here. Thanks! Cheers! 2) Mostly trailers, game demos, PSN games. And PS3 online gaming is free (although currently PSN is down) while Xbox you need to pay money to play online, yearly. Plus, there are more PS3'ers than Xbox'ers in Malaysia |

Cheap RM20 HDMI cables will produce the same quality as Monster RM100 cables. HDMI digital signal carries information in bits of 1 or 0, you would not get a better picture because that would imply that the Monster cable changed the information being transmitted, which is impossible.
Having said that there are situations where expensive HDMI cables with their gold plating, diamond crusted, nitrogen whatever are useful. That is when you want to connect devices that are far apart usually more than 5 meters. Or you are planning to run your HDMI cables over other very strong electromagnetic devices that may interfere in the transmission. Mostly if you are planning to run your cable in the walls or ceilings near air-conds and electrical circuits. Which for most normal people like us, is practically useless. Do your wallet a favor and get Cap Ayam Brand. This post has been edited by mingxhin: May 14 2011, 02:25 PM |
