Hi all,

Just became a proud owner of a PS3 320GB roughly 1 month ago.
Enjoying FF13, Bayonetta & Little Big Planet 2 now.
These are wonderful games & I believe more wonderful stuff are to come.

But...I just found out last week, something which I would call a disaster of a revelation...
I hav not owned a playstation console b4 (not even de PSone).
But I played lots of PSone games on fren's console n renting it at game shops.
That's how I got hooked onto the FF bandwagon (FF7, 8 & 9).
Being poor, I could not afford the PS2.
And so I had to bite my teeth everytime a new FF game came out. And so it was with FF10, X-2 & 12.
I missed them, but I knew I would play them someday...even on the next gen console.
And here I m, naively believing that all PS3s are able to play PSone & PS2 games (given the more powerful hardware, it should b a piece of cake).
Running FF10 on the PS3 would b like running Starcraft on today's quad core pc!

But hell no...the PS3 can only play PS3 and PSone games.
Yes, u read it right, the PS3 can't play any of the PS2 games.
What kind of shitty backward compatibilty is this?!

If Sony had made the PS3 not compatible wif PSone games, but still supported PS2 games, I can still understand bcoz older games might b obsolete.
But f***, it go & support the older generation instead of the last one!
Discovering this pieces of news is like buying a bluray player and it tells u u can play bluray discs & CDs only, u can't play DVDs!!!!!!

Arghhh...! Crap u Sony!

And how izzit that a few models of the PS3 (the 40, 60 & 80gb models wif 4 usb ports) supports PS2 and PSone games but the newer PS3 models can't?
This is crap...

Can hear from ur tone u must b some spoiled rich b**t**d's son who thinks he owns the privilege of having PS2 backwards comparability on the PS3 bcoz he used his daddy's hard earned money to pay for his earlier released TOY.

Plz, b4 u try to flame others, and try to show off ur bigger buying power than others, keep in mind others paid good money for the same system & had to wait a hell of a long time for the price drop. Those who did buy the system during release of the system get the privilege of playing "1st". Not bcoz of special hardware that's only exclusive to u.

U r obviously not thinking from a consumers point of view.

This backwards comparability issue is real & it is annoying to certain users like me, who doesn't own a PS2 b4.
I highlighted it here is also to benefit those who might hav the same needs as me, to let them know this issue exists.

As for ur "fatherly figure" absence, my deepest symphaties...but frankly, nobody cares if u had or never had 1 b4.
What ppl c here is the vulgarness in ur replies.

U might not b interested, but others could b.
