I have a CECHA 60GB and a CECHG 40GB. Planning to transfer my 40 GB power supply to my 60GB because read that it will lower the heat abit. Have anyone tried it?

don't try that

there's no such thing it will lower heat

60gb have different components compared to 40gb ones
*
But from the spec, the diff is only the amp. And 100g lighter. tongue.gif

60gb ones draws more power than 40gb

also it doesn't solve the ylod prob  hmm.gif
*
Yeah i know. It wont. Im trying to reduce heat n power consumption n weight. sweat.gif

QUOTE(nwk @ Apr 26 2011, 10:38 AM)
jesus, ylod problem is because of the thermal paste and not because of psu. i would love to see that guy's ps3 explode in his face when he changes the psu.

what i'm afraid of (not what like nwk said that ps3 might explode  sweat.gif of coz that's dangerous)

the ps3 might shutdown from time to time... not ylod, just autoshutdown straightaway

if u wanna risk it then go ahead with the experiment.
*
Haha.. He's funny. whistling.gif So i guess no one tried this mod. More research needed. hmm.gif

ATTENTION! It has come to my attention that the APS-231 power supply isn't fully compatible with early PS3 systems made on Nov 2006 and before. Users have reported problems playing Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 Beta, where the power supply would stop working playing these games. PS3 systems made in Jan 2007 and later don't have this issue. (I have not gotten feedback on systems made in Dec 2006) If you have one of these affected systems you may not want to invest in a new power supply, or at the very least hold on to your old power supply if you have any problems. Apparenly this issue will only happen on a few games in the affected systems.

Dang it. Apparently some models cannot use with the PSU. sad.gif Check it here

My PS3 keep turning itself off with two beeps and the the red light keep flashing. At first I thought it is due to BD disc but also happen when playing PSN game. Then try different games, and it works fine.

What is actually the problem.

I'm using a phat PS3 btw.

TQ
*
Its a SIGN of getting ylod like Falimia said. whistling.gif Not ylod yet. Backup your ps3 fast and send for reballing. Ylod caused by hardware problem. Usually its caused by the solder between the RSX or GPU and the mobo cracked.

Budget around Rm200 for reballing. Its expensive because its alot of work compare to reflowing. But u can add another year or more if its well maintain.

QUOTE(otomen89 @ May 9 2011, 06:20 PM)
sumtimes i heard like sumting crack on my ps3,isit sign of ylod??

Slim ver right? I heard its normal.

QUOTE(Duckies @ May 9 2011, 06:32 PM)
Hmm...the right one is easier, but r u sure it works?
*
Theoretically it should. Unless there is a setting for your ps3 and pc.

QUOTE(sjn hassan @ May 9 2011, 07:19 PM)

The HDD size will remain the same 320gb.

New changes for the updated system:
- Total power consumption 230w -> 200w.
- Total weight of console 3kg -> 2.6kg
- Changes to the LED lights
- Changes to the power and eject buttons.

The new system will be for Japan first.

Owhhh mannnn... Now is july. Need to wait for 2 more months. cry.gif I read that the LED and the on/off n eject button will change. hmm.gif But some how i still think the old cecha00 hardware is still better. If u rule out the ylod stuff. doh.gif I guess its just me. Later wait for the 3000 series only to find out the 2500 is better. shocking.gif By that time 2500 series is rare already.

Guys DLC is only for the disk region and psn region right? Lets say i have Black ops R3, want to download DLC frm us with my US acc but i play with my MY acc. Possible? Theoretically once we download DLC into the ps3 system no matter frm what region acc you log in, all user can access right? Worried abt region lock games.
