Update: JV1 aka Gingerbread seems to have battery drain issue. I never had my battery drained this fast before in other Froyo roms. Currently on stock JV1. After 8 hours, battery left 18% from 71%. Seems less snappy compared to Serendipity or Flagship roms but definitely snappier compared to Darky's. On RFS right now, will be much much better when devs release EXT4 kernels.
Some apps force closes naturally but nothing big deal. Camera app and browser seems to randomly stop responding, and I have to reboot. But personally, I'd rather have some force closes than laggy web browsing. It's all worthed it IMO. Once you go Gingerbread, you never look back. Haha.. |

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Mar 7 2011, 11:21 PM) I am. Sucks battery faster than any other modems I've been on. But GPS lock is impressive. Not papago. Maps.Eh, recommend me a rom besides Simply rom. Is it really smooth and fast meh? Thought of trying Tricky's JQ3. Heard says it's smooth and fast too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951207 Any local feedback about this? hehe... |

QUOTE(Star_knight79 @ Mar 8 2011, 08:53 PM) Overclocked sounds great. But I'm more conservative. Hehe. Nope, you can install one kernel at a time only but you can anytime flash another kernel in recovery mode.I just wonder is there any benefit for choosing Damian kernel if I don't do OC or UV? Can I install all voodoo, speedmod, and Damian kernel and changed them whenever I like in the recovery mode? Speedmod - lotsa features and stable now Voodoo - stable/basic (grandfather of all lagfix) Damian - quite new.. i never tried but sounds good will try now Insane - speedmod with OC This post has been edited by freakfingers12: Mar 8 2011, 09:27 PM |

QUOTE(dahool00 @ Mar 10 2011, 08:28 AM) Thanks all for replying my questions on speaker/loudspeaker. 1. If you mean it automatically updates when you have wifi and never updates when you're on 3G, then no. Unfortunately you can't, correct me if I am wrong, only samsung apps and MIUI rom can do that i think. But I use the app, DroidWall. You can block 3G from accessing the certain apps/widgets that have auto updates or syncs. Few more Qs: 1. how do turn off those OTA updates (not WIFI), as I do not want to be charge for data transfer. I want to use it just as a phone - ie. SMS/calls, no need those weather updates...etc. But If I turn on WIFI, it should check for updates like OS updates. 2. if there is a new OS update (eg: 2.3) detected over WIFI and it replaced current 2.2, will it wipe up all mt contacts, settings..etc? 3. SGS - now RM2400?, but SGS SL - RM1600 - huge diff. Thanks! 2. If you're updating from KIES, most of the time, nope it won't wipe. But KIES is unreliable, backup data first cause the last 2 times I updated from KIES, it didn't boot until I factory reset. 3. SAMOLED is more marketable I guess. But no la... the price dropped to 1.8k or below d right? Guys, have you all tried this game Cordy? Android exclusive game I think and its freeeee~ https://market.android.com/details?id=com.silvertree.cordy This post has been edited by freakfingers12: Mar 10 2011, 08:53 AM |

QUOTE(lOrDjAbU @ Mar 10 2011, 10:02 PM) Oh i see! Thanks. 1. Modems good or bad doesn't affect much on GPS performance imo. It affects more on network coverage strength, battery life, etc. Then again, I never had a bad GPS experience. BTW, i need to ask gmhafiz or anyone who knows. which modem is good for which carrier? Or are they the same? just sharing:- #1) I tested my gps in my journey to kl from tanjung malim. can't lock at all! First zsjpe, then xxjve, then back to zsjpe, then zsjpg. All gives crappy performance! on my way back home, i flashed xxjpx. And magically, my gps is working! Very fast lock, and 5m accuracy (in tanjung malim) what the shell, man! NOTE: I always clear GPS data and download XTRA data (using GPS Aids app) #2) i am getting very poor reception, using celcom uox. No signal and "emergency call only" all the time. I flashed different modems to try to investigate. Actually, the problem is that celcom doesn't provide good 3g service in tanjung malim and I exclusively set my phone to use only 3g. Changed Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA (Auto mode) and voila! Problem solved! I stayed the longest with JPP(last time), ZSJPE, and XXJVE(best battery life). |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Mar 17 2011, 06:15 PM) Yup, going to finish this year end. Did you try lock and unlock screen a few times? It's a common bug with CM7. After unlocking should work smooth as usual again.About Cyanogenmod7. Firstly, the phone cannot search for signal. I managed to switch on wifi, and then only network signal was found. Next the phone lags really badly! Later I found out that the phone is reinstalling all the apps I have installed before in insanity rom! How is that possible? No wonder my phone is lagging. It is installing >20 apps at one time adwlauncher apps scrolling lags as well but launcher pro was smooth. QUOTE(neo0915 @ Mar 17 2011, 08:36 PM) I'm with Arc Launcher few days already, it's smooth and fast~ GO Launcher can even have folders on app drawer. Launcherpro/ADW launcher all have folders on homescreen. But somehow, i found it drains battery a lots~ 1 of the reason i stick with Arc Launcher because of the folder features~ Any1 recommend any other launcher that has folder features in home screen and does not drain battery ? |

So far, can't play some of my gameloft games cos apps can't read sd card properly. But asphalt and a few others can. Weird. MIUI Music player and Gallery can't use yet, so now I use poweramp player trial and quickpic. So, everything works good la so far. Nothing I can't bare. Waiting for native apps to work with sd card. |
