"Do I need to root first before flash the firmware?
No need to root before flashing stock or custom ROM." Hi sifus, need some guidance on this. It says here I don't need to root to flash a custom rom? my guess is i can just straight away download odin and get a rom in. anything i should look out for? correct me if i'm wrong |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Mar 15 2011, 01:28 AM) Can choose not to root. You'll get root that comes with cutom rom. ah that makes sense. do you use superoneclick? the link in the original site here is giving me trojan warnings. normal? However, if you are rooted first: 1. you will get to use titanium backup that can back up your apps and data. After flashing to custom rom, you will be able to restore them. 2. Can backup /efs folder to preserve your IMEI number shortfuse |

Hi peeps, update about my first ever root here:
I installed the z4root app and used the temporary root function. it hangs halfway and force closes. There is no superuser app that is supposed to pop up(i think) but i noticed that in my settings->about phone, it says my kernel is 2.6.32.9 root@SE-S604 #1. what is this and what should be my next step? |
