Hi There Peoples......New User of SGS here....just bought 2nd hand from our fellow lyn forumers.

however i'm noticing unusual battery drain and, heat on this device, since i'm quite new to android device i need you guys' opinion about this problem,.

I)The battery drains insanely fast,my battery had dropped a whoopin' 20% since i woke up this morning....and keeps on dropping around 10%/Hour (is using batterylife app)

II)The back of my sgs heats up real fast...even when i do whatsapp'ing for less than 5 minutes (via 3G) already can feel it's becoming warm.

is there any of you guys have problem with this? it's frustrating, since i just bought this phone sad.gif

check ur firmware did u use.is it ur phone already root and use custom ROM or?

go to setting-> about phone..give us some information about your phone.
*
Model Number:GT-I9000
Firmware: 2.2
Baseband:I9000DXJPA
Kernel:2.6.32.9 hardcore@speedmod-k13c-500hz#24
Build:FROYO.DXJPA

yes it is rooted, using one click superuser (or something tongue.gif)

i've been thinking whether the kernel has something to do with the battery consumption and the heat as well...hence the speedmod smile.gif

try checking background apps. easier, just make factory reset to wipe all apps.

*
is actually wiped not long ago,any apps to recommend to monitor suspicious programs....? is thinking to flash stock froyo 2.2.1 into it....not sure will improve the situation or not... sad.gif

Update:my phone turned itself off after around 16 hours since unplugged, based on my battery usage,my display drains most of my battery,80+% off total sweat.gif with my LCD brightness' slider is already at it's lowest.

my battery level just dropped around 15% alone just played a lil' (5 minutes) of video playbank, and a lil' web browsing in 1 hour peiod, using wifi and 3g interchangeably not to mention it felt a little hot at the back as well....

i personally don't think this is normal.....any opinions from you guys? cry.gif

I have no idea on the exact procedure though.
- Which firmware are you on?
- Have you flashed any custom kernel?
- In which application?
*
-Firmware version is 2.2
-yes,it says hardcore@speedmod-k13c-500Hz #24
-Any white backgrounded apps like foursquare or the browser....seems like it happens quite randomly but it's there normally when cellular data is active

Beautiful widgets and fancy widgets.
Hmm, flickering ah? I got a hunch it is actually hardware issue. To be sure, flash to everything stock using Odin. Then see if you still have flicker or not.

I agree with freakfingers12, flash to stock rom and see if the flickering persists. Flickering could be due to kernel or hardware.
Oh my, chelsea fan! Brazilian duo saved the Blues!  rclxm9.gif
Now I realized I have two samsung devices, YP-T9, sgs and my brother has yp-t10. I am supporting chelsea indirectly; samsung mobile can give more sponsorship money to chelsea biggrin.gif

actually i'm quite confused about the which is stock firmware,i had a I9000DXJPA (the one that came preloaded with my 2nd hand phone) and a I9000DXJPE (somesay this is the stock).it's my first android so actually everything here is kinda confusing me tongue.gif
