QUOTE(stormlcc @ Mar 7 2011, 06:47 PM) thanks guys...... you're using captivate?i noticed darky's xda page the guide cannot be opened, just to clear things up a bit: i'm used to htc rooting and flashing, but i'm a noob in the galaxy world, so to flash this rom i'll need: 1) root 2) cwm 3) flash Full Captivate SGH-i897 Support 4) cwm boot into recovery and flash correct me if i'm wrong, there are tons of stuff in darky's page, the only thing missing is the guid (which cannot be opened) FYI, this is a new phone i'm trying root and flash, so there's not a lot of stuff to back up this is how i flash to darky's (galaxy s i9000) 1) flash stock rom 2) flash darky's v9.2 odin version (then you'll get voodoo kernel with lagfix enabled) 3) disable the voodoo lagfix 4) flash the darky's v9.3 cwm version after configurating the settings in the darky configurator (did a wipe) basically, you don't have to root. when you flash v9.2, you'll be automatically rooted i'm not sure how captivate works for darky's. you might want to try serendipity rom which is meant for captivate |

QUOTE(neo0915 @ Mar 7 2011, 07:36 PM) Hmm... I thought can install those themes although im in stock rom tim~ lols. hmm, modified stock rom is deodexed and zipaligned. they have the stock theme, but you can flash theme over itErm... Wat is the diff between modified stock rom and custom roms~ Well, i know custom rom, but wat is modified stock rom actually ? Jz got my SGS not even 1 month, but already bored wif the stock rom~ The "themes" stuff wake me up suddenly~ hmm you can assume custom rom to be the same if you flashed the original stock rom through odin, you can't flash themes i might be wrong here, anyone can confirm this? QUOTE(Star_knight79 @ Mar 7 2011, 10:17 PM) Thanks for the info, bro. i can't find the thread d.. but it's somewhere in xda theme section xDMay I know where can I find the custom boot animation? Do all the custom boot animation can be used for all custom ROM or it has to be ROM specific? Besides, I saw you using DamianGTO ultimate kernel? What's that? Nice? Coz I only heard about voodoo and speedmod only. i think can be used for all roms.. just place the 'bootanimation.zip' in data/local will do err, it's a kernel where you can overclock to 1.2ghz, underclock to 800mhz or undervolt.. as compared to speedmod, it's much faster imo more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959696 btw, i oc-ed and uv-ed with all ext2 lagfixes including loops.. and i can say throughout all the flashing i have done since october last year, this is fukken fast and smooth (battery saving also) Added on March 7, 2011, 10:38 pm QUOTE(neo0915 @ Mar 7 2011, 10:36 PM) Sifus, yea you're right. you don't have to remove root btw Jz wan to confirm something before i flash Simply~ Do i need to disable something before flashing, for example, tweaks, lagfix, root ? I need to download and flash to Wipe 2.4 before i flash to 2.4.1, right ? (LINK TO SIMPLY GALAXY 2.4 SWEETHONEY MULTI CSC: WIPE = http://www.multiupload.com/4A0D2D82MD) @gmhafiz Wanna to ask u about the battery life of Simply Rom~ This post has been edited by Fornaxlife: Mar 7 2011, 10:39 PM |

QUOTE(zumapuma @ Mar 9 2011, 02:43 PM) nope. you should be able to find it unless you accidentally pasted into a folder. try repasting? did you extract the simply rom? it should be in .zip file.. This post has been edited by Fornaxlife: Mar 9 2011, 02:46 PM |
