Short review of Sweethoney 2.4 ROM: (I install the WIPE version) biggrin.gif

UI: Sleek. But overall the colour mix and match still I prefer the Darkyy scheme.

Speed: Snappy I would say. Can really feel JS5 improvement over JPY. Everything loads and opens faster. For eg. task manager>application, can scroll straight away without jerk even though it is still loading.

Bootanimation: Some thing new and better IMO.

Bugs: Other than the gallery bug (already replaced), I don't encounter others yet.. Feel less bugs than Darkyy overall.

Icons: Acceptable to me.

Battery life: No comment yet. Haven't been thoroughly tested but so far nothing significant to report. Seems normal.

Browsing Internet: Good. Fast and smooth with JS5 browser even during loading stage. Miren is faster too here compare when was in Darkyy. Not sure why.

GPS: Incredibly fast lock up. Can even lock satellites inside my bathroom. (Not able to do that last time in Darkyy)

Current settings: 10 pages in appdrawer. 7 homescreens full of shortcuts n widgets. Auto-syncing on with gmail, facebook n whatsapp. Background data on, Location on, 3G n HSDPA on. NoLED on using Accessibility. WIFI on and never off even after leaving WIFI zone. All recommended tweaks in speedmod are enabled. RFS all.

Based on initial observation, I think this ROM can last me till a stable Gingerbread comes. thumbup.gif

wat uv actually do?

i saw some user set a higher uv rate, then the phone freeze, why it happens?
*

Uv is under voltage. Meaning setting a lower voltage to the current processor. Lower voltage = Better battery life. Setting the voltage too low will caused the phone freeze/hang because it is underpowered. Imagine (might not necessary be true, just an example.. tongue.gif ) u body requires 60% water. If the water level drops below certain percentage, ur body will collapsed (eg faint). So uv is something like that. A good uv is where the voltage is lower than current, without jeopardizing the stability of the phone itself. A further reading here would explain more about uv itself.

Ok, thanks Fornax bro.

I found that battery drains pretty fast on Simply 2.4, then i check battery history, Gallery is more than Android in the usage. I try to replace it with Ok one, but battery still drain....sigh.. blush.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

Anyone facing battery drain issue in Simply Galaxy 2.4?
*

What do u mean replace it with OK one? There are many methods to replace the gallery if the current gallery is draining too much battery.
First method:
1. Install sgs tools. U can grab one from the market under 'Captivate SGS tools' although this version (4.5) has more features to suit captivate. Older version of sgs tools will do just fine.
2.Under Upgrade Stock apps, select Modded 3D Gallery (Make sure u have online access eg. 3g/wifi) as it requires downloading the files.

Second method:
1. U need to uninstall the current gallery. U can use titanium backup (easiest one) or using root explorer.
2. Install gallery 3d from market. Search for Gallery 3d.

Yea. I use the given modem ZSJPE. Already serves me well. No reason to change it.

You need landlines for stability. Because it is a big file and Samsung servers are slow at most times. This usually happens when you use the broadband internet.

I got mine in Aug 2010. Don't think it is first batch. Did you tried LBS mode to test then? But if now is working fine for you, then just forget it.

There is another way. You use odin to upgrade your ROM. Refer to first page for details.

owh...when i'm used the zsjpe modem i tried using lbs test mode and gps test apps...standing under the sun for straight 30minutes and doesn't have any sat in view...

now using xxjve modem...don't try it yet...because it's raining and cloudy since morning...need a clear sky...nvm...thanks for the feedback lch....

so far satisfied with simply rom..don't have FC on dialer anymore like on darkyy last time...boot off animation like old tv..i like...and seem smoother than darkyys..did not activated any tweaks or lagfix....the only things bothers me now is gps...it's not a big deal to me tho'..hehehe

I have no good explanation on that, but i did encounter the same problem before. But in my case it re-download back into my sdcard. Sometimes data corruption happens causing lost of files. But it only happens with big games downloaded into the phone..

First, make sure u are using the latest voltage control 3.0.1. Can get it trough market. Old version not too stable. Sometimes the value changes on its own. Second is to follow the recommended uv setting on SO first page. When testing, never save it as boot setting first! Test it first, run few quadrant test, play video, run some games. If its stable enough only u set it as boot setting. If the current uv is stable enough, u can lower them one step at a time. Try to get the best combination without freezing the phone. Other forumers might want to add up more.. tongue.gif

I have these values as good UV values:
Good UV Values :
1600000 -150
1500000 -150
1400000 -175
1300000 -175
1200000 -25
1120000 -25
1000000 -50
900000 -50
800000 -50
600000 -50
400000 -75
200000 -75
100000 -75

If I step down the voltage, it should be this?
Good UV Values :
1600000 -175
1500000 -175
1400000 -200
1300000 -200
1200000 -50
1120000 -50
1000000 -75
900000 -75
800000 -75
600000 -75
400000 -100
200000 -100
100000 -100

I'm currently experimenting in the most optimal values. Can you post your values as a comparison? Thanks!

Yup. Thats right. By increasing the the uv, meaning u are lowering the voltage. Because it measures in -ve. If u are using the latest voltage control, u are only able to apply for value of 1280-1200-1120-1000-800-400-200-100 only. Using the old version of voltage control, u can apply the all the values u post earlier (including oc up to 1600mhz, but i doubt that) Previously i can safely oc up to 1400 with so kernal.

Here's mine:
1000 - 50
800 - 75
400 - 75
200 - 75
100 - 125

I find these value give me good stability without crashing the phone. I can go slightly lower than this but now got no time to play with it. tongue.gif
Btw, i don't oc as i don't do a lot of gaming, thus oc give me no extra advantage.
