If u freeze an app, u cannot run it. The app is still there, but its more like being blocked and cannot be used. To use  it back, unfreeze it. Side effect? Nothing i can think of..

Oh i see! Thanks.
BTW, i need to ask gmhafiz or anyone who knows.
which modem is good for which carrier? Or are they the same?

just sharing:-
#1) I tested my gps in my journey to kl from tanjung malim. can't lock at all! First zsjpe, then xxjve, then back to zsjpe, then zsjpg. All gives crappy performance!
on my way back home, i flashed xxjpx. And magically, my gps is working! Very fast lock, and 5m accuracy (in tanjung malim) what the shell, man!
NOTE: I always clear GPS data and download XTRA data (using GPS Aids app)

#2) i am getting very poor reception, using celcom uox. No signal and "emergency call only" all the time. I flashed different modems to try to investigate. Actually, the problem is that celcom doesn't provide good 3g service in tanjung malim and I exclusively set my phone to use only 3g. Changed Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA (Auto mode) and voila! Problem solved!

1. Modems good or bad doesn't affect much on GPS performance imo. It affects more on network coverage strength, battery life, etc. Then again, I never had a bad GPS experience.
I stayed the longest with JPP(last time), ZSJPE, and XXJVE(best battery life).

Thanks for your input. :-)
maybe my phone kuat merajuk lah that's why sometimes it works while other time it gave me nothing except heartache.

I feel very laggy in SweetHoney 2.5 after first boot. Anyone got the same experience?

Opening of apps is slower too and a few sec of black screen is back.  hmm.gif This makes me miss my SweetHoney 2.4.1
*
Wipe Dalvik cache in clockwork mod recovery. Some times it can eliminate lags.

+1
been using for a week, didn't notice any improvement. I don't have ultimate juice though. But I doubt it can do wonders to my phone's battery.

i turn off the background data and yet it sometimes still gatal-gatal connects to HSDPA. is this normal? how do i stop it?
*
-Edit your apn setting. Set it to MMS only. Or just delete your apn if you don't ever want to use it.
-if you're on newer firmware (2.2.1), you can turn off your data temporarily by holding down power button and select Data Network Mode.
-if you think that's complicated, download apndroid from market, add a widget to switch data on-off on your homescreen.
-And H connection is faster than 3g, that's why some people disabled it to get more battery life. Luckily, I have Sanyo Mobile Booster to provide extra 5000 mAh for my phone. hehe

android market replacement? Good, I'm sick of the slow android market. shocking.gif
No, it's not a replacement, it provide assistance.
I have a very weird market problem lately. No updates for any apps.
then, when I try that aTrackDog app, I know that ScreenFilter app has been updated to version 1.1
And I immediately check android market, and magically it's there. Weird lol
hey, why don't you put swype tips to first page, for noobs and pro users alike. Just my suggestion. tongue.gif

yes SGS II is definitely breath taking.
but I won't abandon my SGS. too many sweet and bitter memories!
BTW, what's the fastest rom with JS7 as base?
I'm on Doc's 9.8 and it lags occasionally.
I've read that Simply Galaxy 2.5.1 got some issues and the rom maker is investigating and fixing it.

Can anyone help me? somehow my phone only emergency call only. I use maxis. is it the phone or the sim card problem eh? I try settings> mobile networks>network operator>search network>MY MAXIS. It says unable to connect.

things you can try:

1) Set your Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA (auto mode)
2) flash another modem preferably asian (ZSJPE, ZSJPG, DXJPB, etc)

NO need warranty card and no need receipt for warranty. The Samsung service center will just key in serial number - from there they will know your phone source and warranty status. Infact nowadays most manufacturers do not need this - is now fully computerised . Exception if you buy AP from a shop and you want to go back to the shop to claim
*
Wah, you sure mate? Don't they need confirmation that the one who sends is the real owner?
maybe I'm not doomed yet..
